But the powers of the ghosts, judging by d'Urville's observations and calculations, were for the most part small, and each weighed approximately thirty grams.
Many well-known scientists - Paracelsus, Newton, Kant - were engaged in parapsychological experiments, but D'Urville is interesting because he was one of the first among reputable scientists to come to the conclusion and openly wrote that there is a kind of parallel world that unites a large number of the most diverse creatures that are closely connected with the world of people.

Goblin is an invisible werewolf. But people were so close to him that they could describe in detail. His hair, beard and eyes are green. There are no eyebrows, pupils or eyelashes. It can be wrapped only in its own fur, or it can be dressed, but always without a headdress. Bast shoes on his feet are always mixed up. The goblin is taller than a person, he cannot speak, but he is able to make various sounds: crying, moaning, laughter, sobs.

The stableman is the patron saint of horses. Very often he is represented in the guise of a man, but with a ponytail and ears. Each owner has his own stableman, who makes sure that the horses are kept, protects from diseases and from predatory animals.
Perhaps one of the most famous home spirits is the brownie. In ancient times, he was honored as the founder and ruler of the family. The brownie looks like an old man of small stature, with large arms and wide palms, completely covered with shaggy warm hair. It is rarely seen, because the brownie is very careful and tries not to catch the eye. Therefore, you can hear him more often: he wanders around the house at night, muttering, sighing. To protect themselves from evil spirits, people have long used amulets, in particular, wormwood, poppy, nettle, but sometimes they deliberately entered into an alliance with evil spirits, especially when divining.
What exists is only assumed modern science. And our ancestors, apparently, knew about them for many centuries and communicated with them as best they could. Among the entities inhabited by others, there are kind, positively disposed towards people and evil or demonic spirits, one of the main tasks of which is to harm a person in every possible way.
This division is very conditional, because much depends both on the situation and on the nature of the person communicating with the spirits and his goals. Unambiguously unpleasant spirits, from which we expect only dirty tricks, include evil spirits, including devils, demons, mermaids, water and other infernal creatures.
