The fiercely penetrating sound of this name creates a picture of a dynamic and powerful revelation of forces. Like a roll of thunder and powerful streams of rain, it describes a nature aimed at bright self-manifestation, victorious, oriented towards passionate relationships.

Catherine, in the view of most people, evokes associations with the "royal" name, with majesty and authority.

Even common nouns appeared: katya - a doll, ask katya - flogged, katherine - get rich, cash in (obviously because one hundred rubles bills with a portrait of Catherine II were called "katenkas" - big money at that time).

4. The fashion for names has always existed. Often it is associated with a change in values in generations, so almost every decade bears its own names.

In recent times fashionable names there were those that were forgotten, discarded as too simple or, conversely, too pretentious. Concept Phenomenon popular names not fully understood, and besides, it is very mysterious. It is not known which name will become popular in the future, just as it is not known which song will become a hit.

It is important to remember that the name is not an outfit that can be worn on holidays, you can give it away or throw it away. The meaning of the name is part of the personality, it is given only once and accompanies a person all his life.

In this topic, mini-compositions of young people will be published. The topic of discussion is "Why do I have such a name", i.e. own naming history.

13 people took part in the first competition.

My name is quite unusual, my name is . Most, when they hear him, they will definitely ask again, and say that they have not heard such a name yet. The name Bogdan is borrowed from the Old Slavonic language and it is deciphered as follows: given by God.

At first, they wanted to call me Alexander, but it so happened that my mother could not get pregnant for about 7 years. And when she nevertheless became pregnant, everyone was surprised and said that it was a miracle, and that is why they decided to call me Bogdan, that is, given by God, as I wrote above.

Now we live in a world where less and less people are interested not only in their history, the history of their lives, the lives of their ancestors, but also in the history of their name. Many people ask why? I can write my own answer to this question, but now this topic would not be suitable for our task.

Introduction

My name is Lisa. Mom calls me Lizunka. Dad - Lick. And in an adult way they call me Elizabeth. I will soon be 11 years old, and I don’t know anything about my name. After all, the name of a person can tell a lot about himself. After all, some secrets are hidden in it, which I don’t even know about.

I put before metarget:

    Learn as much as you can about the name Elizabeth.

I turned to my mother for help. We decided to look for information in the library and the Internet. And my teacher, Zhivnina Rimma Borisovna, helped me in the study.

The purpose of my work:

find out what my name means and why it was chosen for me

We put thesetasks:

- Learn all about the origin of the name Elizabeth;

Find the answer to the question: is the name Elizabeth one of the fashionable ones at the beginning of the 21st century?

Find in the dictionary what affectionate forms the name Elizabeth has;

Collect information about the famous namesakes of Elizabeth.

Research hypothesis A: My name is rare these days.

Main part

The main part of my work consisted of the following steps:

    origin of the name Elizabeth

    The popularity of the name Elizabeth; .

    Affectionate forms of the name Elizabeth;

    Famous namesakes of Elizabeth.

First stage.

Conversation with a specialist about the origin of my name

At the beginning of my research, I turned to our librarian Marina Ivanovna Selezneva for advice.

In search of truth, she advised to turn to the dictionary. There are many dictionaries.

    Saint ALEXANDRA

    I found a dictionary of Russian personal names in the library and discovered a lot of new things for myself. It turns out that there is such a science - anthroponymy. The subject of the study of anthroponymy is "personal name" is a special word used to designate an individual person.The meaning of the name Elizabeth refers us to the translation from the Hebrew language - "God's oath" or "God's help."

    Since childhood, Elizabeth has been growing up as an active and artistic girl. She easily makes new acquaintances. In relationships, she always strives for leadership - thanks to her innate intuition, she does this easily and naturally. Perhaps precisely because she easily finds an approach to different people, there are always many friends and acquaintances around her, . Elizabeth tries to make the ability to communicate with people her profession - often she becomes a reporter, journalist, TV and radio broadcaster, etc. However, a career does not special significance for Elizabeth

Second phase. The popularity of the name Elizabeth

And then I was interested in the question: “Since I have such a sonorous name, is it popular, or, as they say, fashionable?” In general, the popularity of names is not a very stable thing. As a rule, the name is popular for a certain period of time, then gives way to other names. At the endXXcenturies in Russia, Alexandra, Victoria, Daria, Elena, Irina, Xenia, Olga, Svetlana were considered widespread female names. It turns out that then my name was not in vogue, but how are things now? As statistics showed, at the beginning of the 21st century, Anastasia was in the first place in popularity among girls, followed by Maria, Daria, Anna, Elizabeth, Polina, Victoria, Ekaterina, Sophia. It turns out that although the name Elizabeth does not take the first place, it is still among the ten most fashionable names.

I decided to find out how things are at our school. Will there be a place for confirmation of what we have on the above fact. Together with the class teacher, we took a list of all the girls in our school. Unfortunately, out of 116 girls, only 5 bear the name Elizabeth. It turns out that my name is not so popular.

Third stage. Affectionate forms of the name Elizabeth

    Lisa, Lizonka, Lizochek ... How many diminutive forms does this name have? I found the answer to this difficult question. He just amazed me! It turns out that the name Elizabeth has so many beautiful and affectionate forms! There are over thirty of them. And what are these warm, affectionate and wonderful words:Lisa, Liza, Lizonka, Lizunya, Lizusha, Lizok, Lizavetka, Veta, Twig, Lily, Lilechka, Betsy, Eliza, Ellie, Alice, Bess, Lizzy, Lisetta, Lisela, Liesel, Fox, Ela, Bet.

Now I will ask all my relatives to call me not only by the usual common names, but also by some others that I liked the most. And I liked the mostLizavetka, Eliza.

Fourth stage. Famous namesakes of Elizabeth

In the history of Rus', famous women glorified and glorify their name in different ways. Did the name play any role in their fate? I think it played. And how to know correct name you got it or not. This question cannot be answered. But still, predictors believe that the right choice of name can help a person achieve life success. How successful were Elizabeth's namesakes? I will give examples of some of them.

Holy Martyr Elizabeth . Grand Duchess Elizaveta Feodorovna (Louise; her family name was Ella; officially in Russia - Elisaveta Feodorovna) - Princess of Hesse-Darmstadt, Grand Duchess of the Romanov dynasty. Ranked among the saints of Russia Orthodox Church in 1992.

Queen Elizabeth I considered the most prominent monarch in English history. Her forty-five-year reign is characterized by economic growth, the flourishing of literature and the emergence of England as the first among all the world's maritime powers. Living in an era when English monarchs were not just symbols of the kingdom, she rightly deserved the recognition of her contemporaries, the time of her reign was a golden age for England

Lisa del Giocondo, Lisa Gherardini ((1479 - 1542/1551) the wife of the Florentine silk merchant Francesco Giocondo, possibly depicted in the painting by Leonardo da Vinci, known as the "Mona Lisa" or "La Gioconda")

Elizaveta Bykova , chess player, world chess champion (1913–1989)

Elizaveta Vasilyeva , poetess (1887–1928)

Elizabeth Kuhlman , poetess, translator, who spoke 11 languages (1808-1825)

Elizabeth Lavrovskaya , singer, soloist of the Mariinsky Theater (1845–1919)

Elizabeth Taylor , American film actress (b. 1932)

Elizabeth of Thuringia , Christian ascetic, widely revered in Germany (1207–1231)

Elizaveta Boyarskaya - actress

Lisa Chaikina – Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously)

This is not the whole list, but only a small part of it. It is possible that my name will help me achieve some results in the future. While it is too early to think about it, there is a long and fruitful life ahead. I have yet to grow and grow, work and work. And I'll try not to lose face.

When I spent such an interesting research work, imperceptibly discovered that my name is really beautiful and unusual, fashionable and popular. That's what my mom called me. As a child, her grandmother had a friend with whom they were friends all their lives. She was very kind. Sweet, always friendly. Mom loved her like her own. And even then she decided that if she had a daughter, she would call her Elizabeth. Mom believes that she was not mistaken and only this name suits me.

In conclusion, I would like to give a few recommendations for choosing a name for the child:

The name should be easy to pronounce, have many options that are pleasant to the ear (Natasha, Nata, Tata, Tasha, Natalie, Natulya).

The name should evoke pleasant emotions, both among its owner and those around him.

It is undesirable to name the child in honor of the father or mother. Having the same name mother or daughter, father and son often cannot find a common language

The child will grow up more contact and pleasant in communication if diminutive forms are easily formed on his behalf (Valya, Valechka, Valyusha, Valentine).

Currently, many parents name their children after the saint on whose day the child was born. This is a very correct decision, since a child named in this way acquires for himself for life heavenly patron.

    Internet resources:

There are many names in the world. The name of a person is an unusual word. It has a special meaning and attitude towards the newborn child. Mom and dad called me the old Slavic name Vyacheslav, which means the most glorious. Even 50 years ago this name was very popular, but now it has become rare. My godfather, a friend of our family, is also called Vyacheslav - I am named after him.

Looking at the collection of names, I was surprised that my name has a zodiac sign and a horoscope - this is Libra, the color of the name is pale golden, the talisman is topaz and a buffalo. The patron saint of my name is Vyacheslav Czech. It was a prince in Bohemia in the 10th century. He received an excellent education, was fluent in Slavic, Latin and Greek and was well educated. At the age of 18, after the death of his father, he ascended the princely throne and ruled wisely and fairly, taking care of the Christian enlightenment of his people. Ransoming children sold into slavery, he gave them to be raised in Christian spirit. He built churches in the Czech Republic and decorated them. The envious nobles decided to destroy him and persuaded his younger brother Boleslav to take the throne. Boleslav and his friends killed Vyacheslav on the threshold of the church when he went to morning prayer. His chopped up body lay unburied for several days, and the people were indignant and worried. Blood. Spilled in the church doors, they could not wash it off, and after 3 days it disappeared by itself. Vyacheslav is revered as the patron of the Czech Republic. On the day of Vyacheslav, children are sprinkled from a sieve on the threshold from the evil eye, for health.

I also learned that Vyacheslav can succeed in many specialties, but most of all in technology. By the way, I want to study at the Moscow Military Academy at the Faculty of Robotics in order to design robots in the future.

It is written about Vyacheslav that he is a sociable, cheerful person. He has many friends and just good acquaintances. He treats people well and rarely comes into conflict. Vyacheslav is kind, but quick-tempered, quickly cools down and remembers insults. And I agree with this!

I think that it is necessary to live up to your name, since there are many good, kind and famous people was named to them. I like my name and its sound. In my opinion, mom and dad made the right choice by naming me Vyacheslav.

What does my name mean.

Ksenia means "hospitable".

At home, they affectionately call me Ksyusha, Ksenya, and my mother calls me Senya. Dad and mom picked up a name for me for a long time and now they decided to call me Xenia.

I was born in winter, and my name day is February 6th. The main features of my name are purposefulness and independence. My patron is the rabbit. Lucky season is winter, lucky day is Saturday.

Ksenia of Petersburg is considered the patroness of my name. She suffered a lot and helped the suffering. For her good deeds, she was canonized as a saint.

I am happy that I was given such a beautiful name.

What's in my name?

Kirill. What does my name mean? Where did it come from?

According to some data, the name Cyril is of ancient Greek origin, a diminutive of the word Cyrus - lord, lord. According to other sources, from the Greek word, which means "sun". Mom called me by this name, because for her I am a little sun and happiness. Ten years ago, the name Cyril was quite rare, but every year it becomes fashionable and popular to call boys that way.

The name Cyril has long been known in history. Thus, in 862, the holy, equal-to-the-apostles teacher of the Slavs Cyril, together with his brother Methodius, compiled the Slavic alphabet, which was later called "Cyrillic". These saints translated many liturgical books into Slavonic.

When naming a child by that name, you need to remember that Cyril is a little fidget. Cyril is usually very inquisitive. As a child, he was interested in a lot of things, almost everything. He asks many different questions on the most different topics. Cyril has a very good memory, he remembers everything he saw, heard literally on the fly.

Kirill treats people with increased self-esteem, loves to show off and constantly expects praise in his address. In a dispute, he is primarily attracted by the opportunity to show his mind and abilities, the truth for him is in second place.

It seems to me that the name Cyril suits me. The described character traits largely coincide with my habits and behavior. I am a fidget, and my fuss sometimes interferes not only with others, but also with myself. But no matter what, this is a beautiful and good name.

5. Research hypothesis: (Slide 3)

I can assume that the names did not arise by chance. The name of a person affects his fate and character.

II. THEORETICAL PART

1. The history of the origin of names (Slide 4)

A person's name is the word that a person hears most often. This is the most important word in his life.

The names of people are part of the history of peoples. In ancient times, the name was given to a person as a sign by which it was possible to distinguish him from the rest.

There are three stages in the history of Russian names:

1. Pre-Christian.

Names appeared at the dawn of human history, along with the advent of speech. Our ancestors, the inhabitants of Ancient Rus', bore names depending on the meanings of the words with which they are designated: (Slide 5,6,7,8)

    according to external signs: Svetlana, Chernava, Kudryash;

    by character trait: Dobrynya, Silent, Jumper;

    in turn of birth in the family: First, Second, Fifth;

    according to natural phenomena: Snowstorm, Znoynik;

    By Christian holidays: Postnik, Meat-eater;

    by time and place of appearance: Saturday, Winter, Road;

    by profession of parents: Rybak, Mukovoz.

These names were supposed to deceive the evil spirit so that the child would not get sick.

2. Christian period.(Slide 9)

With the adoption of Christianity in Rus', people began to be called by the name of the saints. Each day of each month corresponded to the names of the saints. Parents could choose from just a few names. Therefore, some names were chosen more often, and they became numerous and loved (Ivan, Anastasia, Maria).

Many names were transformed in accordance with the sound of the Russian language: Illarion - Larion, Theodor - Fedor, Makariy - Makar, etc.

3.New period (from 1917 to the present day) (Slide 10)

A new period began after the Great October Socialist Revolution when the church was separated from the state. At this time, Old Slavonic names are returning.

Newly formed names reflecting the events taking place in the country are gaining great popularity. Especially many such names appear after the 1917 revolution. In tear-off calendars, Lunachars, Revolutions, Vladlen (Vladimir Lenin) were recommended for each day. Simultaneously, with the rapid development of cultural, economic and social ties, there is an active replenishment of the Russian language between the countries with the names of other peoples (Eldar, Artur, Lolita, Zhanna, etc.).

2. Choosing a name (Slide 11)

Choosing a name for a child is one of the most exciting and interesting activities for future parents. Some even before birth know what to name the child, while others choose only after the baby is born.

When choosing a name for a child, parents should think about his future, so that, as adults, their son or daughter does not experience embarrassment in front of people and resentment against parents for a too “original” name.

There are many names in the world, good, different. Everyone can choose according to their taste.

Here are some ways to choose a name:

1. in honor of someone. Often the child is called the name of relatives, friends or famous people. So the kids are named after the heroes of books, films or TV shows.

2. By the meaning and mystery of the name. Today, most parents, before making a choice, be sure to look into special dictionaries to get acquainted with the meaning of the name they like.

3. By fashion. From time to time, certain names become fashionable - as a result, several children with the same name gather in one class.

4. By originality. Some parents try to come up with something unusual for their child, original name. Today in Russia there are such names: Google, Hacker.

Most people are happy with their name, but it happens that a child hates his name and is offended by his parents for it. Many, upon reaching adulthood, decide to change their name if they like another name more.

    the name should be easy to pronounce;

    should be related to the patronymic;

    should be easy to remember;

    diminutive forms should be formed from the name;

    should not cause unpleasant associations in a person.

3. Meaning and mystery of the name. (Slide13 )

All people have a name. Every name means something. Many are interested in whether a name can influence the life and destiny of a person, or does it all depend on upbringing? A lot of things influence the fate of a person: the time and place of birth, the personality of the parents, upbringing, health and character. Not last role the name that the parents gave to their child plays in fate. The influence of the name on the fate of a person has been known since ancient times. The name reflects the character and inclinations of its bearer, determines its successes and failures, affects relationships with people.

But the influence of a name on fate is determined not only by its prevalence. To successfully choose a name for a child, you need to know what it means. Raising a child, parents intentionally or not, inspire him with what he should be.

A person's name is just a collection of letters and sounds. These sounds convey a large amount of information that is perceived by the surrounding people. The name has a huge impact on the character of a person. It is able to soften or strengthen individual features, and even has an impact on a person's position in society.

We hear our name more often than any other words, therefore, it should sound pleasant to us. There are hard and soft names, romantic and strict, simple and complex. For example, if a person who at first had a soft character hears a harsh-sounding name every day, then he can grow up to be strict. If his character was already firm, then the name enhances this feature and can turn him into a strict or even evil person.

I, like our ancestors, believe in a special magical power words and that the personal name of a person can not only describe the character, but also influence it.

4. The secret of the name Victoria (Slide 14)

The secret of the name and character of Victoria: The character shows sufficient firmness, mobility and the ability to display assertiveness, self-will, often bordering on stubbornness, and great emotional and motor activity.

She can become a ringleader and initiator of all kinds of events. Most favorably, when all Vika's qualities are balanced, and her activity will find its application in a sense of humor, this will save her from many emotional breakdowns and conflicts.

Vika usually does not want to start reading on her own for a long time, she loves it when her parents read books for her and aloud to her. She likes to withdraw into herself and hide in a secluded corner where no one will disturb her.

At school, Vika lacks the stars from the sky, but as she grows older, she becomes more diligent.

That's what the letters in my name say. (Slide 15)

IV. CONCLUSION (Slide 23)

I devoted my research work to the study of the history of names.

Working on this topic, I learned a lot of new and interesting things, and I think that every person should know the meaning of his name. Now I know what our names, their history mean; What is the importance of a name in a person's life.

There are no nameless people living on earth. Names, like everything in the world, have their own history. A name is not an outfit that you can wear on holidays, you can give or throw away. The meaning of the name is part of the personality, it is given only once and accompanies a person all his life.

But it's not enough to have good name, the most important thing is also to correspond to it, to justify it.

"It's not the name that makes the man, but the man's name."
