Who created God and where did he come from? Where did God come from? What could be the reasons for the creation of the universe?

Who God the Father is is still a topic of discussion among theologians around the world. He is considered the Creator of the world and man, the Absolute and at the same time the triune in the Holy Trinity. These dogmas, together with an understanding of the essence of the Universe, deserve more detailed attention and analysis.

God the Father - who is he?

People knew about the existence of one God the Father long before the Nativity of Christ; an example of this is the Indian “Upanishads”, which were created one and a half thousand years BC. e. It says that in the beginning there was nothing but the Great Brahman. The peoples of Africa mention Olorun, who transformed the watery Chaos into heaven and earth, and on the 5th day created people. In many ancient cultures there is the image of “the highest mind - God the Father,” but in Christianity there is a main difference - God is triune. To put this concept into the minds of those who worshiped pagan deities, the trinity appeared: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

God the Father in Christianity is the first hypostasis. He is revered as the Creator of the world and man. The theologians of Greece called God the Father the basis of the integrity of the Trinity, who is known through His Son. Much later, philosophers called Him the original definition of the highest idea, God the Father Absolute - the fundamental principle of the world and the beginning of existence. Among the names of God the Father:

  1. Hosts - Lord of Hosts, mentioned in the Old Testament and in the psalms.
  2. Yahweh. Described in the story of Moses.

What does God the Father look like?

What does God, the Father of Jesus, look like? There is still no answer to this question. The Bible mentions that God spoke to people in the form of a burning bush and a pillar of fire, but no one can ever see Him with their own eyes. He sends angels in his place, because man cannot see Him and survive. Philosophers and theologians are sure: God the Father exists outside of time, therefore he cannot change.

Since God the Father never showed himself to people, the Council of the Hundred Heads in 1551 imposed a ban on His images. The only acceptable canon was the image of Andrei Rublev “Trinity”. But today there is also a “God the Father” icon, created much later, where the Lord is depicted as a gray-haired Elder. It can be seen in many churches: at the very top of the iconostasis and on the domes.

How did God the Father appear?

Another question that also has no clear answer: “Where did God the Father come from?” There was only one option: God always existed as the Creator of the Universe. Therefore, theologians and philosophers give two explanations for this position:

  1. God could not appear because the concept of time did not exist then. He created it, along with space.
  2. To understand where God came from, you need to think beyond the Universe, beyond time and space. Man is not yet capable of this.

God the Father in Orthodoxy

In the Old Testament there is no reference to God from people “Father,” and not because they have not heard about the Holy Trinity. It’s just that the situation in relation to the Lord was different; after Adam’s sin, people were expelled from paradise, and they went over to the camp of God’s enemies. God the Father in the Old Testament is described as a formidable force, punishing people for disobedience. In the New Testament, He is already the Father of all who believe in Him. The unity of the two texts is that in both, the same God speaks and acts for the salvation of humanity.

God the Father and Lord Jesus Christ

With the advent of the New Testament, God the Father in Christianity is already mentioned in reconciliation with people through His Son Jesus Christ. This Testament says that the Son of God was the forerunner of the adoption of people by the Lord. And now believers receive a blessing not from the first hypostasis of the Most Holy Trinity, but from God the Father, since Christ atoned for the sins of humanity on the cross. It is written in the sacred books that God is the Father of Jesus Christ, who, during the baptism of Jesus in the waters of the Jordan, appeared in the form and commanded people to obey His Son.

Trying to explain the essence of faith in the Holy Trinity, theologians set out the following postulates:

  1. All three Persons of God have the same Divine dignity, on equal terms. Since God in His being is one, then the properties of God are inherent in all three hypostases.
  2. The only difference is that God the Father does not come from anyone, but the Son of the Lord was born from God the Father eternally, the Holy Spirit comes from God the Father.

It would seem a simple question to which every believer should know a simple answer. But, again, if you Google a little, read the answers of Christians and the counter-arguments of atheists, then somehow it is not smooth, somehow not everything is clear and simple.

Therefore, I feel the urge to write my own version of the answer.

In fact, this question is incorrect. And usually believers correctly answer that God is eternal and He did not come from anywhere, but was, is and will always be. But opponents usually ask:

  • Why is God eternal?
  • If the universe needs a cause in the form of God, why doesn't God need a cause, or why isn't the universe eternal?
  • Who said that God is eternal?
  • How do you prove that God is eternal?
  • .. and so on…

And here it becomes somehow unclear, somehow not smooth. Usually Christians argue with the Bible, not taking into account the fact that this Book is not an authority for non-believers and this is the main problem of this issue. We need generally accepted arguments. This question belongs to the kind of questions that cannot be argued by the Bible alone. Here we must use logic, philosophy and the laws of the universe. Why do we, Christians, forget that the whole world was created by God and that “... His invisible things, His eternal power and Godhead, have been visible from the creation of the world through the consideration of creation... (Rom. 1:20)” Let us show God to atheists through creation, if The Bible is not an authority for them.

Let's take philosophy, logic and mathematics. And we will answer purely philosophically.

First you need to understand the very concept of the term “God”. Let's use a generally accepted source.

God is the name of a powerful supernatural Supreme Being in theistic and deistic teachings. In monotheistic Abrahamic religions, God is seen as a person, as a personification of the Absolute, as an incomprehensible transcendental personal God (“the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob”), and as a manifestation of a higher reality, and as the one and only God, who has no similarities.

It is important to clarify that we are talking about the God of monotheistic Abrahamic religions. And it is precisely this definition of the concept “God” that we use, if only because this understanding of God is shared by the majority of the inhabitants of the earth, for the majority of earthlings belong to these religions.

It says here that God is the personification of the Absolute. What is the Absolute? This is a philosophical concept.

The Absolute, the absolute (lat. absolutus - unconditional, unlimited, irrespective, perfect) is the fundamental principle of the world, the beginning of all that exists, eternal and unchanging, which is understood as one, universal, beginningless, infinite and in turn opposes any relative and conditioned Being.

Those. God is the Absolute. This is very important to know and understand. The very concept of “God” already includes the fact that He is the Absolute.

What does this mean? And this means that God is absolutely eternal, since He is the Absolute.

What is eternal? Eternal is something that has no end! That never ends. Infinite.

Examples from science:

The geometric ray and the geometric straight line are infinite, they have no end. Moreover, the geometric ray is relatively infinite, because it has no end, but has a beginning. And the geometric line is absolutely infinite because it has neither beginning nor end. As opposed to a geometric segment, which has both a beginning and an end. Those. Science, beloved by atheists, has long been operating with concepts of the infinite. Moreover, we can distinguish two types of infinity. Relative, like a ray, and absolute, like a straight line. These concepts are not just made up and not taken out of thin air - they exist as a scientific fact. Or do atheists have something against science?

Therefore, the philosophical concept of the absolute has a completely scientific basis.

And when we talk about God, we mean that He is the Absolute, which means that He is absolutely eternal and infinite and has neither beginning nor end, like a geometric line. Therefore, pose the question: “Where did God come from?” is also incorrect, like asking the question: “Where is the beginning of the straight line?” Next time answer the atheist: “I’ll tell you where God came from when you show me the beginning of the geometric line.”

It is important to clarify that within the framework of this article, I am not trying to prove the existence of God, as well as the finitude of the universe - these are topics for other articles. I am simply making an analogy that is understandable to people for whom science is the highest authority. And I’m just clarifying the philosophical understanding of the term “God,” as well as how we should treat this term. Since we are talking about God, we must have a generally accepted philosophical definition of this concept. Nonbelievers and I must have a common denominator, a common foundation on which we can build a constructive discussion. If non-believers start talking about God, they must understand what this concept means.

God is the Absolute!

FIRST GODS

How the idea of God arose among people, when it happened, what the first gods were like - all this remains a mystery. It is unlikely that it will ever be revealed. Many opinions have been expressed on this matter, but we cannot consider any of them indisputable or reliably substantiated.

Facts obtained by archaeologists, historians, researchers of ancient art and ethnographers allow us to make some generalizations regarding the lifestyle, activities, way of life, and partly the knowledge and beliefs of people whom we consider primitive. These were hunters, fishermen, gatherers - representatives of the so-called Homo sapiens, Cro-Magnon man (we also belong to this species or subspecies).

They spread across the globe about 40 thousand years ago, and over time they colonized all inhabited continents. Judging by the tools and works of art that have been preserved since then, intellectually and mentally these people were not significantly different from us, but in some ways, perhaps, they were superior.

Before the Cro-Magnons, another species (subspecies) of Homo sapiens dominated the Earth - the Neanderthals. However, their spiritual world remains unclear to us in many ways: the facts are too scarce, allowing for different interpretations. Neanderthals lived in scattered groups. There is information that they buried the dead, which means they honored the dead and showered the graves with flowers. They had some primitive forms of naturalistic, object-based art (similar to modern varieties of pop art, making dummies). There is no good reason to believe that they developed ideas about higher beings.

The first evidence of this kind appears in the Cro-Magnon era: cave paintings, bone engravings, figurines made of stone, bone, and wood. These are images of fantastic creatures or stylized female figures. Most researchers are inclined to believe that these works of archaic art reflect people’s ideas about the world around them and their place in it.

If everything were limited only to such “silent” artifacts, then their meaning would remain unclear. However, based on materials from the study of tribes of primitive culture, it is known that they had ideas about great gods, and more often - deified ancestors, animals (less often - plants, stones), about certain human-gods or god-beast-people.

A characteristic feature of the art of Cro-Magnon hunters: magnificent realistic images of large mammals that served as the object of hunting. But people are almost always shown schematically or distorted. Why? It is unlikely that this is only a matter of the narrow specialization of artists. What prevented them from drawing portraits, at least in profile, that truly reflected the original?

The most plausible answer: the belief in the magical power of depicting certain objects interfered. Such superstition is characteristic of many tribes of archaic culture that Europeans encountered.

A curious incident confirming this occurred with N. N. Miklouho-Maclay. His servant, a native who believed in the magical power of the camera, allowing him to obtain copies of people, categorically forbade himself to be photographed. Miklouho-Maclay promised to take this wish into account. One day, when the servant was sleeping, the scientist decided to take a photograph of him, but at the last moment abandoned his intention.

He acted honestly. And by taking the photo, he risked a person’s life. After all, the native could wake up during the shooting, be horrified and decide that the white man had gained power over his soul. The image of a person, as representatives of archaic culture believed, has a mystical involvement with a living person (or animal). Such a superstition could lead a native to serious illness, depression, or even death (such cases have happened). The effectiveness of magic is determined by the degree of faith in it.

But if ancient hunters avoided depicting specific real people, this prohibition extended to animals, and also, apparently, to fantastic creatures or conventionally symbolic images of men and women. Of these, two definitely stand out: human-animals and curvaceous women.

What does the word “god” mean and where did it come from? But first you need some introductory information that is necessary to understand the essence.

Russia (or otherwise - Rus, Ros, Russya) is a dispersed (settled) people who made a great exodus from the northern lands, where they lived before the onset of the glacier. But what was the name of this territory? It was called “Tyr”, or otherwise “Tyra”, with an emphasis on “s”. Until recently, Europeans called it “tartaria” (tyr-tyriya). However, in Latin we still sometimes call the Earth (the entire known territory) Terra. That is Tyr. And the word “territory” probably originates from the word “tyr-tyra, ter-tera, tor-tora” (sound variations). “Tyr” - this word meant an area that “carried” something or someone “carried” it, where it was possible to collect fruits, catch fish and game, stock up on wood, that is, “tyrit” - “carry - bring” » various benefits. Hence, presumably, the word “tree” means “tyrevo”, that is, something that “bears” fruit. And Tyr was inhabited by people who were called “tyraks,” or in other words, “fools,” since initially this word did not have a negative connotation, just as the modern words “village” and “collective farmer” did not have it. Rus', during the time of the great exodus from Tyri, concentrated on the periphery all the light of civilization of that time. And those who remained to live in Tyri were said to be living “in a hole” (in Tyra). The dull sound of consonants is characteristic of the ancient Russian language. A man is “tyrak” (mutated into the modern “fool”), a woman is “tyrka” (“hole”), “tyrachka” (“fool”). Yes, it’s funny, but you must agree that it’s logical, albeit funny in a modern way.

Alatyr, a white-flammable stone, in modern terms “altar”, a place where they sacrifice something rubbed. The tradition of sacrificing “tyr” (that is, usually food, but not only, it can also be other goods, such as things and even living people) originated from the ancient tradition of burying deceased fellow tribesmen, leaving their head sticking out from the ground, in order to then ritually “feed” it (the head of Svyatogor - Russian folk tale). After the head fell off from the body due to decay, a stone was placed in its place and then “fed” it. This was the first form of the altar. The rich relatives of the deceased erected a large stone, and those who were poorer erected a smaller one. They put a “tyr” (tar-dar, perhaps the word “gift” came from there) on a large stone, covered it with pine branches (spruce), and set it on fire. This is how the descendants “fed” their revered ancestor. Subsequently, the ancestors became the subject of divine worship by their descendants. This is how native faith arose.

Now the main thing is what does the word “god” mean and where did it come from?

God, in its original meaning, meant the ancestor who was worshiped (see above “alatyr, white-flammable stone”). As you know, the ancient Russian language was characterized by a muted sound of consonants. What happens if you mute the consonants in this word? It came out “fuck it.” Very similar in sound to the word “groin” (“groin” - in men, “pakhva” in women (“pikhva” is a modern Ukrainian word, part of the body where they are “shoved”), which in turn is associated with procreation, fertility (to plow) and reveals what, in fact, the word god-pokh may originally mean: God is the ancestor who gave rise to the clan (human tribe) and whom his descendants worship, thus expressing to him their aspirations for protection from adversity and misfortune.

People sought to become gods, gaining glory for themselves, which would become the basis for their descendants to worship them. It was common practice to perform “feats” as certain achievements required to cover oneself with the glory of a hero.

Hero is a Latinism that comes from an inaccurate transcription of the sound “I” in Latin. It was once written down as “he” and therefore was pronounced later as “he” (a similar metamorphosis in the name “Olga-Helga”). Thus, “hero” is “hero”, i.e. in the original sound - “ardent” (“what?” - adjective), or, what is more accurate and understandable to the modern Russian language, the word “ardent” (ary). The right to be called “ardent,” that is, “hero” (Aryan), had to be earned. That’s why “feats” were necessary.

The feat is most likely associated with the word “to strive” (for deed). In other words, you declare that you will accomplish something (for example, that you will kill a bear with one horn), that is, you “strive”, and you perform a “feat” - that is, in fact, what you “struggled” for. In the modern understanding, the connection between the concepts of “feat” and “asceticism” has been lost and feat can be spontaneous, like heroism.

The cult of ancestors is characteristic of all humanity. Modern worship of the graves of ancestors and close relatives, as well as great honored personalities (a kind of “heroes”, in our understanding), is the remnant of this cult, which was once the fundamental religious foundation of our ancestors, who thus created their gods. Laying funeral food (sweets on the grave, or a glass of vodka with a sandwich), as well as laying wreaths and flowers - all this is also a remnant of the ancient custom of “ritual feeding” of a head sticking out of the ground. Go to a cemetery, remember this and wonder if this is really true.

Monotheism, which includes Judaism (the forerunner of Christianity and Islam), is, relative to the much more ancient Rodnoverie, nothing more than a remake. Monotheism arose from the religion of Pharaoh Akhenaten, who introduced the cult of sun worship. Much was borrowed from Akhenaten’s songs into the Old Testament, which, in turn, formed the basis of Judaism, Islam and Christianity. Monotheism destroyed the cult of ancestors in its esoteric sense and literally “put an end to” Rodnoverie, in which many ancestor gods were worshiped. Instead, only one god was proposed, who “created” the first man, and from him the entire human race began to be traced. From the point of view of significance, this gave certain preferences and political benefits to the people who proclaimed themselves the first descendant of the first man, and therefore more significant in terms of their more ancient origin. I am talking about the “tribe of Abraham,” that is, the Jewish Jews. In addition, they proclaimed themselves the “favorite” people of their god, thus providing themselves with some advantage over other peoples. Agree, the first Jews had a clear motive to introduce monotheism according to a book they wrote with their own hands, where they got the best “pieces”.

The modern concept of God distorts its original meaning. The God of modernity is a kind of “absolute”, a kind of “super-mind”, a kind of “mystery” and an incomprehensible “super-energy”. However, our ancestors knew that God was their respected ancestor, a very real person who lived in the flesh, that is, simply an outstanding person, a “hero” who, according to their beliefs, inexplicably exists after death and helps his descendants from the other world peace. And the modern distortion of the meaning of this word is another remake of the modern Christian era.

For information, Rodnoverie - this term is used as the name of the religion of our ancient ancestors, and not as a modern “Rodnoverie”, trying to be similar to the old faith of our ancestors.

By the word “GOD” I mean the very First Cause, which created everything, which we contain within ourselves and participate in the process of creating everything that exists, the First Cause with which we communicate through the feeling and state of Love. From this feeling everything is born, consisting of the Forces of Nature of Nature, manifested in dense material objects and not manifested, and existing at the subtle-field level. The general field of the Universal Mind, the Power of Vitality, which embraces all living and non-living material and field systems, which created the Worlds, Energies, Space and Time, Eternity and Infinity, manifesting itself in every subject or object that has a spiritualizing principle, the Grain, the Germ of the Primordial Power Energy-Information-Root Cause-Ether. I believe that everyone understood to the extent of their world perception and worldview, regarding their paradigm of thinking... This concept for everyone changes with time of understanding themselves and the surrounding space and cannot be described in any words, no matter how many of them are written, this is an internal state ...

You live in a material universe that is made of energies that vibrate within a certain spectrum. Your physical senses are only capable of perceiving the lowest range of this spectrum, namely the material or physical universe. Your conscious mind, conscious self, has the ability to tune into and experience higher levels than what can be perceived by the senses. Above this physical spectrum are emotional energies, above them are mental energies, and even higher is the level of identity.

When you go beyond the four levels of the material universe, you reach the lowest level of the spiritual realm. There are many spiritual Beings in this realm. Some of them are the Beings who created the material universe, including planet Earth. The common name for them is Elohim, the plural of the name for God used in the Old Testament. Some of the spiritual Beings have taken physical incarnation but have now ascended back into the spiritual realm. When you balance all karma, resolve all false beliefs by putting on the mind of Christ, and achieve your original purpose for coming to Earth, you too can become an ascended Being, or an ascended master.

After ascension, you become a spiritual, or immortal Being, and this means that you do not have to return to incarnate on Earth again. You then have two options. You may choose to continue your personal growth by moving through the various levels of the spiritual realm until you reach the highest level of consciousness, commonly referred to as Divine consciousness. Jesus said, “You are Gods” (John 10:34) because you have the potential to achieve the fullness of God consciousness. Your second option is to temporarily put aside your own growth in service of helping those on Earth who have not yet ascended. You then become a spiritual teacher for unascended beings. Jesus, Krishna and Buddha are the most famous examples of such teachers.

As you progress through the levels of the spiritual realm, you eventually reach the highest level of the world of form. The Mother's Light here has the highest vibration. If you rise above this level, you will reach the Being who created the world of form. Most religions call him the supreme God or Creator.

Most religions teach that there is nothing outside the Creator. However, if this is true, then where did the Creator himself come from? In reality, there is a level above the Creator, namely, what is called the Absolute. The reason this level is unknown to most people is because there are no words, images or even concepts in the material realm that can describe the Absolute. In fact, while you are on Earth, you do not have the opportunity to fully comprehend the state of consciousness that exists in the Absolute. The reason for this will soon become clear.

There are self-conscious, intelligent Beings in the Absolute, but they do not see themselves as separate from each other or from God. They know that they are God, manifestations of God, because in the Absolute there is a clear understanding that everything is a manifestation of God. In the Absolute there is only one God and many manifestations of the One. The illusion that anyone or anything can be separate from God is impossible in the Absolute. Beings in the Absolute cannot form a sense of identity as separate Beings and have not experienced anything that is separate from the Absolute - for truly nothing can exist outside of all that exists.

The beings in the Absolute decided that it made sense to create a world in which separation would be possible. Thus, a person may have started out with a very limited sense of identity as a separate being. He could then grow in self-awareness until he reached the consciousness of the Absolute. This Being could then enter into the Absolute with an understanding of what it was like to feel separated from It, which represents b O greater value for the Absolute.
The Being who created the world of form in which you live was once one of the Beings in the Absolute. This Being volunteered to temporarily separate from It and create - from its own Being and consciousness - a world that appears to be separate from the Absolute. In this world there may be separate forms that do not look like manifestations of the One God. In addition, individual beings may live there without conscious knowledge that they are manifestations of the one God.

These beings may then begin with a limited sense of identity and self-awareness, thinking that they are separate from their origin, from each other, and from the world in which they live. As they gradually rise to higher levels of consciousness, they will eventually gain the ability to see the unity of all life. Then they can either enter the Absolute in the fullness of Divine consciousness, or become Creators of other worlds of form. However, until such a being reaches the level of Divine consciousness, he is simply unable to comprehend the Absolute. Obviously, you are one of the beings that was created with limited self-awareness, but with unlimited potential for its expansion. This expansion of self-awareness is the main purpose of the creation of the world of form. Thus this is the universal goal of life.
