When I started studying runes, we were given a story about the birth of the world according to Scandinavian mythology. The birth of the world was shown on one of the complete runic rows - Utark. Actually, the Nordic tradition is multi-level. Therefore, Futhark can be an external, exoteric rune series, and Uthark, accordingly, an internal, esoteric series. Well, realizing that many runic inscriptions could not be given into untrained or not entirely clean hands,
perhaps Agrell is right... Even now, in our time, this cryptography technique is known - a shift by a sign of a (several) alphabetical series. And this technique was not invented by our contemporaries. So, this particular code, which futhark turns into utark, was very widespread not in our time, but among more ancient rune magicians.
