House creatures exist. How to find out if there is a brownie in the house. Brownie from evil forces

It has long been believed that the brownie lives only in those houses where there is cleanliness, peace, good relations between residents. He guards his dwelling and its territory. How to find out if there is a brownie in the house, and is it worth being friends with him?

It must be remembered that the brownie is a vulnerable creature and therefore hiding from human eyes. You should not expect that he will want to communicate with the household at their request, so calling him just will not work. First you need to arrange it to yourself, and this is not so difficult.

How to determine if there is a brownie in the house

To feel the presence of an invisible host, you can try to call him:

  • In the evening, shortly before sleep, you need to stand in the middle of the room, spread your arms to the sides, turn your palms down. With closed eyes, mentally (or in a whisper) call the brownie, ask him to show himself. If you feel warmth under one palm, the brownie has come. If nothing is felt, it is possible that the owner is not ready to show himself. In this case, the ritual is carried out after a few days.
  • In the evening, pour fresh milk into a mug and leave for the "owner" for the night. If milk has decreased in the morning, the brownie trusts the residents. So everything will be fine in this house.

After the presence of the “guardian of the hearth” is established, there is no need to be afraid, it will be more useful to make friends with him.

How to check if the house has a home

Simple ways to help answer this question:

  • Place unwrapped chocolates on a saucer and place in a corner overnight. Of course, the brownie will not eat them, but it can change places a little. This is very good sign, indicating that the "owner" accepted the treat. After the brownie has eaten sweets, they must be buried under a tree.
  • Brownies are big fans of playing cards. If a deck of new cards is hidden in a secluded place, then after a while you will notice that they are a little mixed up or scattered. It will be clear that someone played with them.

You can’t call the brownie often for the sake of curiosity - he can get angry and start harming. Brownie is a serious creature.

How to understand that a brownie lives in the house

People who do not believe in the existence of brownies can easily see signs of their presence:

  • domestic cats or dogs look around the space as if they see someone. Sometimes they begin to play with the invisible, and sometimes they fight;
  • at night, steps and the clinking of dishes are heard (the brownie reminds of himself);
  • things disappear, and then they are found (the owner punishes for the mess);
  • residents have dreams with answers to questions or a correct premonition of events appears (helps);
  • sweethearts burn out and equipment breaks (expresses dissatisfaction);
  • if there is a baby in the house, you can notice that, like animals, he sometimes smiles at someone invisible, cooing and playing with him.

If the brownie helps, there is nothing to be afraid of. But if he is naughty and dirty, you should find out what the creature is unhappy with. Maybe they quarrel in the house, or they don’t take good care of the household.

The brownie does not require anything unusual from his tenants. Cleanliness, silence and a little communication are enough for him. And then his concern will begin to show in full force: flowers will stop drying, children will stop getting sick, food will turn out delicious, and there will be less dust.

Before they find out if there is a brownie in the house, some try to install a hidden camera. In no case should this be done, the invisible owner will definitely take revenge. Creatures should only be treated with respect. They stronger than people, and if someone is disliked, life will not be given.

In the old days, it was believed that in every dwelling there is a real "owner", whose name is brownie. He keeps the owner's family out of trouble, looks after the household, and helps in difficult times. But this creature can do harm. This happens if he is offended. Nobody knows exactly what a brownie looks like. But many traditions and legends have come down to our time, from which we can learn a lot of interesting things about the appearance of this creature, its character and inclinations.

Who is a brownie?

The ancient Slavs believed in various mythical creatures that guarded forests, fields, swamps, ponds and villages. Legends have survived to this day about the existence in every house, whether in a village or in a city, of brownies who took care of their owners and were patrons of their homes. Such a creature was called differently: brownie, hatnik, golbeshnik, baker, grandfather-brother, ruler, master, and so on. It all depends on where this mythical hero lives. The baker, of course, is found behind the stove, the barn - in the barn, the bannik - in the bath, and so on. Today we are thinking: “Is there a brownie at all?” And in the days of our great-grandmothers, absolutely everyone believed in it. It was believed that there is one in every family.

If the owners of the house move somewhere, they must certainly take their brownie with them. Otherwise, the troubles of the family cannot be avoided. There were people who claimed to have seen this creature. He appears before eyewitnesses in the form of a small hairy old man. And what the brownie looks like in reality, perhaps, no one knows. After all, sometimes he can take the form of one of the pets. So, for example, our cat can spin around for a long time when we cook in the kitchen. Entering the room, you can find that Murka is sleeping peacefully on the sofa. "Who was it?" - we are surprised. Appearance The patron of a house can tell a lot about its owner. If the family of the spirit is good, prosperous, owns a strong economy, then this creature also has a pleasant, well-groomed appearance. And if the owner is poor, drinks bitter, has no wealth, then his brownie looks like a sickly creature in old rags. Rarely did anyone see him. The spirit appeared only on special occasions. For example, when he was called by a special spell or when he himself expressed a desire to show himself to someone. It is believed that seeing him is bad sign. So the "owner" of the house warns his wards about the impending danger. In general, many legends are associated with this creature and folk signs. They will be discussed below.

Legends about the origin of the creature

The ancient Slavs believed that the brownie is none other than the firstborn of the family, its long-dead member, to whom the Lord gave the opportunity to atone for his earthly sins by serving living relatives. There are other legends about how this fabulous creature appeared. Here is one of them: “The first people, Adam and Eve, had many children. One day the Lord called the whole family to visit. But Adam did not want to lead all the children to God, and took only two sons - Cain and Abel. But is it possible to hide something from the Lord? He became angry with Adam and turned the children left in the house into spirits. They became good creatures, not related to evil spirits". And they also told about the origin of the brownies as follows: “God got angry at the evil demons who rebelled against him and threw them to the ground. Some of these representatives of evil spirits also got into people's houses. Having settled next to a person, these spirits settled down and went limp, became good helpers to him. Unlike their other relatives: kikimor, goblin, water and others. Our ancestors tried to imagine what a brownie looks like. He was drawn as a small wrinkled old man with cheerful lively eyes and a large beard.

It was believed that he lives an average of 500-600 years. Born an old man, but dies - a baby. The younger he is, the older he is.

Golbeshnik from Northern Russian legends

In each locality of our vast homeland, the mythical owner of the house was represented in its own way. The inhabitants of the northern region of Russia believed that in every family there lives a creature that no one sees. They call him the goblin. Where does this strange name come from? It was believed that the spirit lives under the stove behind the partition (golbets) from the side of the underground. This creature is kind, takes care of the household, often grumbles. But at the same time, it does no harm to anyone. It was believed that if such a brownie is in the house, then its owners are protected from troubles and intrigues. bad people. But if another spirit, called gnetko, settled in the family, then misfortune could happen. This creature leaned on a person during sleep in the form of a pet and choked. It could end badly: in the morning, relatives found the sleeping dead. Therefore, they tried hard to "bring" out of the house. Stories about brownies from life are like fairy tales. However, eyewitnesses claim that many phenomena in our apartments, those that cannot be explained from the point of view of common sense, are due to the fault of the spirits that live here. There were other varieties of brownies in the legends of the western and northern villages: lizun (licked wool from livestock and hair from small children), shepherd (appeared in the form of a ghost on the walls of the house) and so on. Such a variety of appearances of the home guardian is typical for the beliefs of this region of Russia.

On the nature and "type of activity" of the spirit

As we have already found out, brownies are more often kind than evil. It all depends on whether the owner is good or bad in the house, and on how he treats the spirits that live in his home. If the owners care about cleanliness in the rooms, about the health of the cattle in the yard, about their material well-being, then this creature helps its wards in everything. What does the brownie do? He protects the house from thieves, warns of imminent danger, makes friends with master's dog and horses. With the latter, he often likes to indulge, for example, braiding their manes into pigtails. But if he dislikes any cattle, then he tortures her to death. Therefore, a far-sighted owner, acquiring new pets, tries to please the spirit. He buys individuals of those breeds and colors that his grandfather-brother likes.

The patron does not favor only goats. It is believed that he is afraid of them. This spirit loves to play pranks very much. A real brownie is a big joker. At night he is busy in the kitchen, rattling plates and cups. Sometimes it can break something, trample. The household members who got up are unlikely to catch the mischievous person in his occupation. They see only fragments broken dishes, dirt in the kitchen, bad graffiti on the wall and so on. Or it may be that the hostess, who left the dough or milk on the stove to come up, turned away just for a minute, and the food was already on the floor. They say: "The brownie is pampering." In the apartment, he likes cleanliness and order. But lazy, greedy and unfair owners are often punished. And some pranks are not enough here. To the greedy owner will let thieves into the house. The unjust will set a fire in such a way that the owner will lose everything, and so on. But most of all he does not like the brownie when they forget about him. If the owner does not honor the guardian spirits of his family, then these creatures begin to misbehave and play pranks. To appease them, it is enough to leave a treat in a corner of the house or yard. They are not picky about food. Therefore, everything edible can be a treat: sweets, bread, milk, grain, and so on.

"Relatives" of the brownie

Kikimora. It is the closest relative of the patron spirit of the house. She looks like a dwarf woman with a thimble head and a body as thin as a straw. It can live both in the house behind the stove (home), and in the field, in the forest, in the swamp (marsh or forest). Refers to evil spirits. If this is a domestic creature, then it often makes noise at night, prevents the owners from sleeping, harms their livestock (more often chickens), and breaks the dishes.

Getting rid of it is quite difficult. But you can protect your home so that a kikimora and a brownie cannot play pranks in it. In the apartment, you need to do the following: tie a salt shaker on the table with a juniper belt. If a kikimora harasses the owner's chickens, then a charm must be hung over the perch - the neck of a broken jug with a piece of red cloth. Our ancestors believed that dead unbaptized babies turn into these ugly females. Kikimora swamp or forest appeared before people in the form of a small dry old woman in rags, slovenly and a little eccentric. There were legends about her as a kidnapper of small children, instead of whom she threw an enchanted field to her parents.

Bannik. Like the kikimora, it is the closest relative of the guardian spirit. He even looks very much like a brownie. Often he is depicted as a small, dark old man with a long, moldy beard. He lives in a bath. Loves to play pranks. Either he will scald someone with boiling water, or he will frighten him with a knock on the wall. How to appease the brownie-attendant? Leave him a crust of rye bread, savoryly sprinkled with salt. This is his favorite treat. And in the newly built bathhouse, a special cruel ritual is carried out: they take a black chicken and, without plucking it, strangle it and bury it right there in the ground at the threshold. It is believed that in this way one can protect oneself from the intrigues of the spirit.

Goblin. This is the forest spirit. In each locality, he was called differently: leshak, and forest man, and the owner of the forest, and the forest grandfather, and so on. He takes care of the forest, the animals and birds that inhabit it. Many people think that he is kind. However, this spirit treats everyone differently. good man help to get out of the forest if he gets lost. But he will deliberately confuse the bad: he will start to frighten, auk, make him wander aimlessly in circles. What the goblin looks like, no one knows. It is believed that this is an invisible spirit. In ancient legends, he is represented as a lonely big old man, resembling a decrepit tree. Mushroom pickers and berry pickers can sometimes pass by him and not notice. This is not surprising: only by looking closely, you can see the hair, similar to twigs, arms and legs, reminiscent of tree roots, a beard covered with lichens. Although often the spirit of the forest can take on the appearance of some plant or animal. Some people told about meeting them in the forest thicket. They met an inconspicuous person whose faces they could not remember. The stranger talked to them, helped to get out. And when they got home, people couldn't even describe it. Nobody could remember what he looked like. It was believed that the goblin lives in a wooden hut in a dark dense spruce forest far from human eyes. All animals and birds, feeling the approach of death, come to the house of the spirit to find their last refuge here. He takes care of his charges. So, in times of famine, he drives flocks of animals to feed in other forests. It was with this phenomenon that the mass migrations of animals were associated. Since ancient times, people have tried to appease the goblin, since in the villages they lived on the gifts of the forest. Being angry, the spirit could bring a lot of trouble to a person. One of them is the theft of livestock. For the rural economy, this was a great loss. And the goblin could steal the baby from the cradle. Instead of a child, parents found a sheaf of straw, a block of wood or a log in the morning. It was believed that the abducted children were brought up by the spirits of the forest, passing on secret witchcraft knowledge to them. Such a person subsequently became a healer or an evil magician.

Goose. This is a spirit that lives in a threshing floor (a wooden extension near the house for drying hay). If you do not get along with the bean goose, he can start a fire in his possession, and the owner will be left without hay. He will have nothing to feed his pets. It is believed that this is the most evil spirit of all of the above. It is extremely difficult to appease him. The only way to do this is to sacrifice a black rooster to him. This ritual is bloody. They act as follows: they bring pies and a rooster to the threshing floor. On the threshold, the bird's head is cut off and all the corners of the building are sprinkled with blood. The pies are left right there. They leave without looking back. The custom was most common in the Kostroma province.

Folk omens

Since ancient times, people have believed that if you live according to the laws of nature, respecting its patrons, then you can not be afraid of something bad. It was believed that when moving to another house, it is necessary to call the guardian spirit with you.

They did it in the following way: they took an old boot or a hat and, holding a thing in their left hand, went around the whole house counterclockwise. At the same time, it was necessary to utter such a spell: “Grandfather-neighbor, here is our sleigh for you, go live with us. There's a house, brownie, let's go live with me. Lead your mistress, as best I can, I will reward. You need to go around the apartment when all the furniture is taken out. You should be the last to leave, closing the door with a lock. And this is how our ancestors did when they wanted a good brownie to move with them to a new place: for a housewarming party they put one coin in the underground, and sometimes four (according to the number of corners in the house). The first loaf that was baked in the oven of the new hut was taken out, cut off a crust from it, salted and thrown behind the stove to treat their patron. There are many other folk signs associated with this creature:

If the brownie often strangles his master at night, you need to invite a priest to the house to bless him three times.

If the spirit of the home often plays pranks, bothers its wards, you need to put a handful of thyme in the pillow.

If the brownie does not like the owner, you need to bury the goat's head or skull in front of the threshold of the house.

If in the morning the tenants find bruises on their bodies, it means that the spirit does not like them, you need to appease him.

If the creature strokes the owner with a warm and smooth hand, this is to well-being, and if it is cold and rough, it is unfortunate.

If one of the acquaintances stays overnight in an apartment for the first time, you need to ask permission from the "owner" of the house. Otherwise, he will become angry and will not allow the person to rest at night, pushing and oppressing him. And this despite the fact that no one has ever seen him and does not know what the brownie looks like. His photo does not exist. However, many claim that they felt unreasonable anxiety and excitement in a similar situation.

Hear the groans or howls of the patron of the house - to the death of his owner.

How to call a brownie?

It is believed that you can see the guardian spirit at home only if he himself wishes it. Since ancient times, people have wondered what a brownie looks like. And there were those who claimed that at a certain moment they noticed how a small human-like creature overgrown with thick hair was watching them. The villagers believed that this was an unkind sign. So the spirit warns of danger. And how to make a brownie appear to us? Many peasants who lived in the countryside knew how to call him. The method is quite simple. Need in a bucket with clean water throw away the unused comb and leave for three days. After a while, a human hair was found there. It was taken out and dried. At a certain moment, the spirit of the house might appear for a few seconds.

But he did not always appear in human form. There were cases when people told that at the entrance to a barn or barnyard they saw a huge black cat, which, when they appeared, rushed into a corner and disappeared. They talked about it like this: "The brownie showed up."

How to appease the "owner" of the house?

In the old days, people were afraid of brownies and tried in every possible way to "appease" them. Spirits love it when people remember them, leave treats and congratulate them on the holiday. There are several ways to appease a brownie. The easiest of them is to leave a small gift in the corner of the room. The "owner" of the house also loves to be affectionately called. He does not like the word "brownie". He prefers the nicknames "grandfather", "hostess", "kind", "himself" and so on. This spirit is very sensitive to a trick on the part of a person. Therefore, when speaking with him, you need to put your soul into the words, pronounce them from the heart. This creature also has its own holiday - on the night of February 9-10. It is necessary to treat your brownie with something tasty on this day. The ancient Slavs even had such a tradition: to cook sweet porridge especially for him and put it behind the stove in the evening. It was believed that if you forget about this day, the brownie will get angry and begin to mischief with his masters.

Friends of children and cats

If there is a baby in the family, then he probably knows what a brownie looks like. The real patron of the home only in exceptional cases may appear to the head of the family or the hostess. But children see him often, especially small ones. He loves them, protects them from dangers, stops their pampering with sharp objects and matches. Kids, seeing a strange creature in the house, are not afraid of him. Perhaps they perceive it as part of the interior. It is often possible to observe how a child plays with someone invisible, laughs and screams. Pets probably also see the little man. By their reaction, you can always guess whether the brownie is in the house or not. If a cat looks intently into a corner, hisses for no reason, a dog barks anxiously at this place, you can be sure that you have a guardian spirit in front of you. If the animal runs after the invisible, plays with it, then the brownie liked it.

But if cats, dogs and other living creatures do not take root in the apartment, die or disappear, it means that the spirit disliked them.

Impact on culture

In Russia, the image of the guardian spirit, as before, was very much loved, and so they adore it now. It doesn't matter to us whether there really are brownies. We are ready to listen to stories about them endlessly. Suffice it to recall here the popular cartoon from our childhood about brownie Kuzya or Nick Perumov's book "Russian Sword". In 1976, a fairy tale feature film called "Duck Village" was released on television. Domovoy Shishka was played by the legendary actor Rolan Bykov. Not only in Russian culture, but also abroad, these strange mythical little men are popular. So, in the heptology of Joan Kathleen Rowling "Harry Potter" there is a mention of such creatures - house elves. According to the history of the series of books, they live in families of wealthy wizards and serve their masters. They can get freedom only if the owner gives them clothes. The theme of guardian spirits is also reflected in the visual arts. The remarkable artist Boris Kustodiev has a painting "The Merchant and the Brownie". In it, the master depicted a very piquant scene: a white-bodied, dazzlingly beautiful young merchant’s wife is basking on the bed half asleep, and the pot-bellied, overgrown with thick hair, an eerie-looking “owner” of this hot Russian hut is watching her. Looking at this work, you can vividly imagine what a brownie looks like.

Many stories today can be heard about poltergeists in apartments. What it is: whether the spirits of the house, or some other entities - we do not know. And is there a brownie at all? Probably, for those who believe in him, he is real. And for those who are convinced that there is no "evil spirit", it does not exist.

Are there brownies? Brownie, fact or fiction?

Some people believe that brownies do not exist in the world, others firmly believe that some kind of creature lives next to them, which is constantly hiding somewhere. Many countries believe in the brownie, however, everywhere it is called differently: “rarashek”, “neighbour”, “home spirit”, “lord”, “skrzhitek”, etc.

Our ancestors have always revered and feared the owner of the house. It was believed that the brownie could both help and severely punish. If, for example, he saw that the hostess was trying, keeping the house clean, feeding the brownie and treating him with respect, he also helps her around the house. If the house spirit doesn’t like the tenants or guests for some reason, it starts to play dirty tricks - hides things, breaks dishes, scares at night. If he really did not like the person, he may even begin to choke him at night.

Currently, there are many stories related to strangulation. Here, for example, the girl Marina was visiting her uncle and her relatives put her in a room with a small infant. At night, the girl woke up from a feeling of heavy weight on her chest. She couldn't move, she could only open her eyes. On her chest, she saw a hairy evil creature as tall as a five-year-old child. The girl was very frightened, but could not move. At this time, the baby, who was sleeping in the same room, screamed, the brownie, immediately disappeared.

Another student girl Larisa came to visit her grandmother, who in the village had two houses on one plot, they lived in one of them, and the other was so old that it was used to keep chickens. The girl was looking for her grandmother and went into an old house, in the passage she also heard the rustles that came from the room. She went into the room hoping to see her grandmother, but there was no one there. As she was about to leave, she noticed out of the corner of her eye that some hairy creature of short stature darted past her. With screams, she jumped out into the street and ran to the gardens to look for her grandmother. When she told the elderly woman about the strange vision, she only smiled and said that it was a brownie.

These are the real collisions of the brownie with people that took place in the recent past.

Many are wondering what kind of houses the brownie lives in and is it possible to meet him in the apartment? Yes, the home spirit can live in apartments and private houses, but not in new ones. First, the walls of the house must be saturated with everyday life and a certain energy of the living space. Very often, at least five or seven years must pass before the brownie decides to settle in a particular apartment or house. Most people believe that the brownie has no appearance, that it is just a clot of living energy, which has its own desires, its own character and consciousness.

It is very difficult to see a brownie, but you can feel his presence, after twelve o'clock grunts, noises, knocks, shuffling steps and other strange sounds usually begin in the kitchen.

If it is known for sure that the brownie lives in the house, he needs to be appeased. In the old days, this was done as follows: they poured the freshest full-fat milk into a beautiful saucer and put it in the darkest corner or behind the stove, next to the saucer they put delicious cookies, mint flavored gingerbread, and the best sweets.

Many people, moving from place to place, offer their brownie to go with them. Why do you need a brownie? And he needs it from damage and the evil eye in the house, for order. If the hostess is lazy, he will play dirty tricks until the woman understands what is required of her and puts things in order.

Brownie - fact or fiction?

Many of us at least once in our lives thought about the existence of a brownie. Some even claim to have seen him, or somehow felt his presence.

So do brownies really exist or is it just a myth?

Let's first figure out who the brownie is.

From time immemorial...

The brownie was known to the Slavs as a home spirit, the owner and patron of the house, providing good life in the house subject to him, the health of family members.

He often made friends with pets, especially cats and dogs. He was nicknamed Brownie after his favorite place in the house: the partition behind the stove. However, in modern homes, the oven is almost impossible to meet. Doesn't this mean that there are no brownies now?

It turns out that the brownie moved to the pantry, and in the apartments he lives in the bathroom, or rather in the washing machine. Surely many now have a desire to check the washing machine, but not everything is so simple. The brownie is shown only in special cases, for example, when he wants to warn the owners of an approaching danger.

Brownie - a man with character!

The trust of a brownie is a serious thing, because your well-being depends on it. The brownie guards the house, warns of the troubles of those who are dear to him.

The brownie can pinch the unloved owners, or maybe strangle them. There is a belief that if during sleep the brownie leans on the owner and strangles with such force that it is impossible to move, it is worth asking for worse or for better. The brownie must answer positively or negatively.

According to his answer, events that will occur in the near future are judged. If you sleep in the brownie's place, he will do everything possible to move you to another place. Therefore, if the brownie is naughty or bites, you should not come up with reasons why the brownie does not like you. It is possible that he is simply not satisfied with some little things, but otherwise there are no problems. By the way, in addition to the aforementioned ways of the brownie to let a person understand that something does not suit him, he can appear in a dream.

How to make friends with brownies?

When moving to another house, you should ask the brownie to move to a new place of residence. It would also be nice to sometimes feed the brownie, leaving him on a clean kitchen table overnight with buttered bread and/or red wine.

It is necessary to hide the knives so that the patron of the house does not get hurt. It should also be remembered that the brownie will not touch someone else's food, so you need to invite him to eat a treat.

If there is a brownie in the house, in the morning you, looking closely, will notice traces of his stay. After such a sign of attention to him, the brownie will be more favorable to you.

How can you see a brownie

There are ways to see the brownie, but I will not write about them, because you cannot call him unnecessarily. The brownie can get angry, change his attitude towards you, and maybe even drive you crazy.

The brownie can also leave the house, angry with the owners. In this case, misfortunes will fall upon the house.

Should we be afraid of the elusive drummer?

Even if you have not heard about the brownie, then you could not help but hear about the lamb. Barabashka is the same brownie, but not in the most pleasant mood.

So, do you believe in brownies? This, of course, is your business. Many people prefer to attribute unusual occurrences to their own forgetfulness, and perhaps they are right.

Personally, I believe that brownies exist, but maybe only because I want to believe?

Several of my acquaintances have met brownies, and I, too, would be happy to be convinced of their existence, but out of simple curiosity I am not going to touch the one who preserves peace in my house (if there is one after all).

If necessary, he himself will wish to be seen.

Are there brownies

Estates of a peaceful invisible patron,
I beg you, my good brownie,
Keep the village, the forest and my wild garden,
And my modest family abode!

A.S. Pushkin

Are there brownies? This question is asked only now, in modern times. And during the time of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers, no one asked it, because everyone KNEW: brownies exist. Like the fact that there is a sun, the rain is dripping, or a rooster should crow in the morning. After all, until now a person says: “I’m going to my home,” even if he lives in an apartment in a multi-storey building. Not in the cottage, not in the attic, not in the penthouse, but at home-oh-oh! I want to go home, I'm coming home.
And all because there is such a wonderful word that came to us from antiquity - “house”! And the same root to him is “brownie”. Is it not because it arose that there is someone who leads this house? What was noticed by our ancestors. The concept of "brownie" exists, probably, among all peoples

peace. And it's ju-ju for good reason!

Called them in different villages

in different ways: The owner, Nafanya, Grandfather, Shishok, Neighbor, Kuzmich. They addressed him respectfully: Boss-Father, Brownie-Father. Our ancestors believed that brownies are house spirits that protect their owners from all sorts of misfortunes. Without Domovoy, the house cannot stand, the matter will not be argued.

Brownie - the keeper of the hearth. Without it, there will be no prosperity in the house. He makes sure that everyone in the house does not swear and everyone is healthy. What would the evil spirit and bad people did not harm those with whom he lives together. The house is cozy, the soul is pleasant - a good Brownie. But it’s uncomfortable, I don’t want to go home, some kind of melancholy is piling up in the house for no reason - it’s possible that Brownie is simply not in the room!
The brownie has always been valued and respected. They also believed that the brownie could warn of trouble and predict happiness. Then it can "appear". Probably everyone has heard “terrible” stories about how the brownie strangles. It can grab by the hand or by the leg. Here it is necessary to ask him (unless, of course, the speech has not been taken away from horror): for good, or for worse.
He will definitely answer. And the questioner will understand the answer. But in reality, almost no one ever asks. No questions. Memory from fear kicks off completely! Then the quality of information is determined as follows: if the Brownie left warm sensations - for good, cold - for worse. Might be talking about something else. As a rule, this is for some kind of news. More often - for bad news.

Brownies: communication rules

If you want, you can talk aloud with the brownie. Seek help with business matters. Promise something to eat and/or toys.

It happens that the Brownie gets spoiled, then you should say: “Such an adult Grandfather, but you will misbehave. A-ya-yay!” - he will stop, but he wants to make amends.

Every six months you need to pamper him with porridge. More milk. Something sweet, sweets there, jam or cookies - the first of every month. Put goodies in a secluded place in a saucer. What would be away from human eyes, and what would pets not get, if any. For example, on the refrigerator. Put goodies, but say, they say, for you, Grandfather-hostess. Peace and harmony in the house are added.

Food for Brownie is then thrown away. Porridge with milk the next day, and sweets once a month.

Usually, the brownie finds a place to rest himself. Furnishes it. And sometimes, very clearly shows that he likes it, and that he would not be disturbed there.

Help your brownie. It is strictly forbidden to leave untidy overnight: forks, knives, scissors; salt, pepper, garlic, onion - This is a big hindrance to the brownie in his work. And do not forget to “clean” the room with a candle after domestic quarrels. It's better, of course, not to quarrel. But who is perfect? As far as possible, make sure that the apartment is tidied up. Dirt, accumulating on the physical level, passes to the mental one. Again, it's harder for Brownie to work. He may begin to show his displeasure. Let's say a lot of unpaired socks will appear.

If the Brownie has really bothered you, and will misbehave beyond measure, then scare him with the great and mighty, three-story Russian language. From the heart so. Turn around in all Ivanovo! Checked. Helps.

They say that the Domovoy's age is longer than a human's. We have years, and he has centuries. But they love to play, that children. Put shiny buttons, unnecessary trinkets, beads, etc. into some beautiful box. You can decorate the box: stick old postcards, shiny papers, New Year's rain, etc. Say it's a gift and put it in some secret place. You look, and things will stop disappearing. And Domovoy will start looking after the house even better.

If you are moving and want to pick it up from with wallpaper, then do it like this. Sweep an already empty apartment. Take a broom in your hands, and before you leave the apartment and slam the door, say: “My master, come with me.” Three times. And having opened the door of a new dwelling, first throw a broom forward with the words: “My master, we are behind you.” The same three times. According to some beliefs, it is necessary to scatter a little more garbage, taken from the previous apartment, outside the home threshold. Then come in. And you will be happy in your new home!

By following these simple rules, you can dramatically change the life in the house in better side. A house without a Brownie is impossible. They believed that in the absence of Brownie, evil spirits settled in the house. Which bring misfortune and misfortune to the inhabitants. Therefore, they said that an evil Brownie is better than none.

Brownie lives in almost every home. Most often it can be found where several generations of the family have lived. It is not easy to detect his presence, but if something does not suit the brownie, he will definitely show his displeasure.

Brownie is a mystical entity that has been protecting people's homes from time immemorial. He is able to protect against many misfortunes: fires, scandals, theft, ill-wishers. However, if the family begins to disrespect their home, makes a mess, the brownie can get angry, and then you will know for sure that he lives with you.

Signs of the presence of a brownie

1. Loud noise. Sometimes at night the brownie can prove himself by rearranging the dishes in the kitchen, slamming doors, stomping loudly. He usually gets angry when the housewives stop carefully keeping order. In this case, the brownie is harmful, hiding things, thereby calling for cleaning.

2. Pets. The most common pets, cats and dogs, always see and hear more than humans. If you notice that your dog sometimes looks warily into the corner, starts wagging his tail and tries to play as if with himself, most likely he sees a brownie. Also, cats can suddenly freeze, and then begin to purr, arching their backs, as if an invisible hand is stroking them. However, if animals show concern, whine, hiss, hide under furniture, it is possible that in your house there is not a brownie at all, but an evil spirit. In this case, it is necessary to clean the house or apartment. Walk through all the rooms, spraying the space with holy water, put some salt in every corner, and then walk with a lit candle.

3. Missing sweets, small items. Often we forget that the brownie also feels our mood and is ready to help us in difficult times. Left without a treat, he can steal a few sweets, the wrappers from which will periodically catch your eye in the most unexpected places. Also, out of harm, he can shift keys, scissors and other objects. Pour milk into a small cup, put porridge with butter in a saucer and place in a corner. Ask the brownie for forgiveness for inattention and ask to protect your house with the same strength. Also ask to return the missing items in exchange, for example, for marmalade.

4. Sleep. Brownies who love their home and owners often help them. For example, in a dream, they can tell you a solution to a problem, indicate who from your inner circle is hostile. In rare cases, the brownie indicates the place where the treasure is hidden. This is how he shows respect, thanks for the care, but most often it is gratitude for the fact that when you moved you did not forget about him and offered to go to a new home.

5. Safety. Often we feel a state of anxiety, but when we return home, we notice that fears evaporate somewhere. There is a feeling of peace, warmth and comfort. And at night we are not tormented by nightmares, we easily fall asleep and wake up cheerful and rested. This is also an indirect sign of the presence of a brownie in the house, who cares about your safety and peace of mind.

6. Warning. Sometimes it also happens that in the middle of the night we suddenly wake up with a strong sense of anxiety, and in a dream we feel as if something has fallen on us and is pressing. So the brownie warns of imminent danger. He can also make a loud noise, slam the door, press the front door bell. In this case, you should take care of your safety and prevent leakage of gas, water or fire by double-checking all the important places in the house.

7. Guests. Often before you drop in on a visit without warning, you have a premonition. This may be intuition, but most often the brownie warns about all uninvited guests in advance. A soft knock or ringing phone warns of people with good intentions. A feeling of anxiety, a suddenly broken glass and worried pets signal that ill-wishers want to visit your house.

8. Children. If there are children in the house, carefully look at them while playing. Brownies with special attention and respect the younger members of the family, play with them and protect them. Often you can see that the child puts an extra device for puppet tea drinking, laughs loudly, tells something into the void. Young mothers often notice that a child suddenly crying out in a dream falls silent, his blanket is straightened, and the cradle is gently rocking.

9. Feelings. When moving to a new home, you should carefully listen to your feelings, especially if someone lived in the house before you. Often the owners leave their apartments and houses without taking their spirit with them. In this case, the brownie is unlikely to treat you kindly. His trust must be earned. If you feel anxious, then leave the little spirit a treat and offer friendship. As a gift, you can give him a piece of cloth, old clothes, hay, a shoe. If this a private house, then the brownie will definitely choose a secluded corner for himself, where he will settle down with great comfort. In apartments, the brownie is more difficult because of the small space, however, even here he can choose a place for himself under the bathroom, on the mezzanine or in an old suitcase. If, after a while, your life has improved, you feel peace and quiet, it means that the brownie has taken you for new owners and is ready to serve. If the feeling of anxiety grows, things disappear in the house, scandals become more frequent, it is worth thinking about how to drive away the evil spirit.

10. Appearance. In rare cases, the brownie shows himself. If a small gray or smoky kitten is insistently asking at your door, let him in. Brownies are often embodied in these animals. It also happens that the brownie warns of something significant so much that he dares to appear before us. It can be a small vague silhouette, a cat, a gray-haired old man. It is important at this moment to focus and ask what news your home defender brought. Feel the warmth - happy news awaits you; cold, chills, trembling or a sense of danger - expect trouble.

If you find the presence of a brownie in your house, try to make friends with him. This little helper is able to improve your life, help you and protect you from any evil. However, if he is aggressive, haunts you, perform a ritual to expel the essence, because it may turn out that this is not a brownie, but an evil spirit. We wish you good luck and don't forget to press the buttons and

Whether there are brownies, it is impossible to give an unambiguous answer - this is just a belief, but many people from different parts of the planet claim that there is a keeper in their home.

general description

There are many legends and myths that often say that the brownie lives next to people, helping them, but for bad people he will do dirty tricks to teach them good things. He is like a strict grandfather who can both praise and punish. At the same time, he is very fair. They do not hesitate to contact him with all sorts of problems and with questions about life or health, but you need to treat him with respect, like the owner of a house or apartment.

He is not just a neighbor who can come or go. If it settles in a dwelling, it is for a long time. He begins to consider himself a full owner. For him, people in the house are only guests, these creatures are immortal, so they can see many changing generations.

In order for the brownie to be useful for the home, it is necessary to appease him. This has been used for a long time:

  • sweets, sweets;
  • milk;
  • chocolate.

They were placed on a saucer in an easily accessible place, where the brownie could get a treat.

Creatures usually live in places where it is semi-dark and warm. Such an atmosphere reigns near the stove. It is very cozy there and the spirits are set in a positive way in this place.

At all times, people tried to please the owner of the house. He was given something tasty, even when he was hungry. This attitude made him very happy, and he helped a person in any business. The house where a happy brownie lives is always full of comfort and warmth.

External signs

In stories and epics, they are described as small old men in a caftan and wide trousers. This is the image that they use to show themselves to people. But in fact, they can have many hypostases, from small fluffy lumps to an incorporeal essence.

Brownies can eat human food - bread crumbs from the table, leftover cookies and sweets. So that it does not cause inconvenience, it can be fed. Then they bring benefits to the house.

They have their day in mid-February when they have more power than usual. At this time, they can see other brownies and arrange a kind of sabbath, but they do not harm people that day and the next morning they return to their previous rhythm of life.

Legends of Existence

There are many stories that prove that brownie exists. It is a personal matter for everyone - to believe or not, but there are really many such stories. Residents of apartments often mention a certain creature that can rustle and stomp at night, despite the fact that there are no pets or insects in the room. It may seem creepy, but if you treat him with respect, do not offend him, then he will not cause harm.

Brownies can interact with people. This usually happens in several ways.

  1. If a person treats the owner of the dwelling well, he will repay with good deeds: put lost keys in their original place or glue a broken cup.
  2. In critical situations, they can save lives: when the wiring catches fire at night, it can make noise or kick people in the room to wake them up. All eyewitnesses of this say that at such moments they saw some kind of shaggy shadow.
  3. Can warn of dangers in advance. He does this by coming into people's dreams and telling them the impending disaster. Sometimes he is simply silent, then the dream is more difficult to interpret.
  4. If the brownie begins to pull on his legs at night, this is a sign that you should not get used to housing. Young girls after such a warning usually find their love and move, men usually leave on a trip to other countries. Older people can interpret this sign as unfavorable. For them, this means the possibility of death.
  5. If you treat him badly, he can escort residents out of the house. This can be confirmed by ongoing events - cups and plates break by themselves, objects fall from shelves, cabinet doors open, lights turn on or off. These are, as it were, warning signs that it is worth changing housing. Or you can try to appease the old man.
  6. When warnings do not work, the brownie can move on to active and even aggressive actions. He is able to inflict physical harm on a person - push or choke. This usually happens at night when the person is sleeping. In the morning, he can even detect hematomas on the body for which there is no explanation.

Call and communication

To make sure there are brownies in real life, you can call it in the apartment. To do this, you need to use a simple method. First you need to establish friendly relations with him. You need to treat him with respect, address and talk with the owner of the house daily. You can periodically ask him simple questions.

To appease the brownie, experienced housewives used chocolate, toffee or milk. If there was hunger in the house, and there was absolutely nothing to eat, bread soaked in milk and water was also suitable. The main thing for him is attention.

To start building friendly relations, you need to put the selected product in a beautiful multi-colored plate, preferably without chips or defects. The offering is placed either by the stove or in a secluded corner. You need to choose a place closer to the east. In the morning, food was given to pets to feast on. It is better to give treats to a dog than to a cat - brownies will be more willing to make contact. Such actions take a week. Thoughts must be pure and respectful of the spirit.

When offering food, repeat:

"For you, Boss, a treat and respect from me."

Brownies like to sing along, so you can sing these words to any motive. After a week, you can contact him with difficult question. You need to do this before going to bed. After the request, it is better not to communicate with anyone. When all these conditions are met, the old man comes in a dream.

The first thing you need to ask him is "To evil or to good luck." If the owner of the house good mood and looks friendly, it promises good and good luck. However, if the brownie is angry or aggressive, then the answer to the question will be negative.

The only condition for such communication is courtesy and respect. If you call him just for fun, he can punish and send trouble to the apartment. They terribly dislike people in alcoholic intoxication. For them, they can prepare terrible surprises - send visions or hallucinations that will turn out to be very scary. If a person is very impressionable, this can end in illness or death, so you need to call a brownie only in a sober state.

Folklore often mentions evil entities that can live next to humans. They are mistaken for brownies. These are also creatures from the other world, but they will never do good deeds or help the home. Such monsters bring only chaos, feed on the energy forces of people and eat children.

Usually such entities cannot get into the house, because. he is guarded by a real brownie. However, if people treated the guardian badly and offended him, he can not only punish. Sometimes, in retaliation, brownies leave houses, making them available to dark forces who are just waiting for this moment.

These creatures feed on human emotions, especially negative ones. They like to bring people to a state of fear, to watch their despair. These monsters look very intimidating, they look like gloomy shadows that lurk in the corners. Many eyewitnesses claim that these creatures have frightening claws and eyes burning with anger.

Such creatures are very dangerous, they can threaten children or the elderly. To drive them out, you may need the help of an experienced magician. It may take several sessions to remove this evil from the house. After that, you should definitely try to lure a brownie into the dwelling. He will be able to restore balance in energy and magical flows in the apartment.

Conclusion

Brownies are creatures from the other world who always live with people. Attitude towards a person is based on how a person relates to him. Even if a person does not believe whether a brownie really exists, you should not disrespect him. This is fraught with the revenge of otherworldly forces. Keeper never hurt good man, but evil - necessarily. It is worth appeasing him with delicious sweets and drinking milk, then there will always be comfort in the house.
