Luck is a state of mind

in which we attract what we think about.

Richard Webster

Feng Shui became known in the West relatively recently - about thirty years ago, although in China it has existed for five millennia. The inhabitants of the East appreciated this art so much that they deliberately hid its secrets from strangers.

Many centuries ago, people realized that the quality of life improves markedly if a person lives in harmony with the outside world. You don't have to fight nature. Nature itself helps those who are in agreement with all its other manifestations. Literally, feng shui means "wind and water". The art of feng shui is the ability to be in harmony with all life on earth, so that life flows more smoothly and the intended goals are achieved with ease.

The ideal Feng Shui house is a house facing south and protected by hills on the other side. And at the porch, a babbling stream must necessarily flow. But most of us are forced to live in apartment buildings, often not being able to change an unfavorable place of residence or somehow influence our environment. Fortunately, feng shui helps residents of city apartments no less than owners of their own houses. The inhabitants of modern high-rise buildings experience an even more urgent need for it.

By applying the principles of Feng Shui in your apartment, you will find harmony with nature, which means you will bring happiness, peace, satisfaction and abundance into your life.

Feng Shui claims that happiness, health and success appear in our lives when we master the energy of qi. Qi is the universal life force present in all living beings. In nature, qi is constantly formed. Slowly flowing water and light breeze create a lot of qi. Everything perfect creates and attracts qi, whether it be the beauty of the landscape or the playing of a good musician. Storms and swift water currents carry qi away, and then luck turns away from us. It happens that qi stagnates (for example, rotten water contributes to this), and then sha is formed - negative energy that scares away luck. Another sha is created by straight lines and sharp angles directed at you. The Chinese call it "poison arrows". The most common examples of sha are a straight path leading to the doors of an apartment building, or a sharp corner in a neighboring building facing your apartment window. Fortunately, the sha is not dangerous to us if it is not visible. There are many ways to protect your apartment from sha and attract as much positive chi energy as possible. It happens that for this it is enough just to improve the lighting and rearrange the furniture.

It is worth noting that having become acquainted with feng shui, you will be surprised to find that many things in your apartment correspond to its principles. Even if you have never heard of feng shui before, your intuition will still tell you the right solution. Significant changes are needed only in rare cases. Basically, you have to slightly adjust the details.

If you are going to buy or rent an apartment in a high-rise building, pay attention to the objects surrounding this building. It is good if he is protected from behind by a hill or the same house, and the buildings located around him are similar in appearance and do not differ too much in height. If the house stands alone on a hill, then the qi energy is carried away by strong winds and the water after the rain flows away from the house. From a feng shui point of view, this is not good. Both wind and water are essential; but everything must be in balance. Too high a building next to your house will "press" you, especially if it is located on the side of the entrance. Ideally, there should not be large objects at the entrance to the house, such as an advertising pedestal, a transformer box, a wall or a hill. If a long path leads to the house, it should not be too straight and directed directly to the entrance. An apartment building is considered dysfunctional without an emergency exit. The shape of the house is also important. Regular shapes are favorable - square, rectangular, round or octagonal. The building should be aesthetically pleasing to you - the attitude towards your own home is of great importance. The presence of water in front of the main entrance to the house has a positive effect on the life of all its inhabitants. A natural body of water is preferable, but a rounded fountain or pool (the corners create sha) is fine too. Plants around the house should look healthy; bright flowers Qi is also attracted to the flowerbeds. It is necessary that the path leading to the house and the entrance are well lit (we heard that somewhere, didn't we?).

Feng Shui says that qi energy enters our homes mainly through the main entrance, so the central hall, stairs and elevators should also be bright, cozy and spacious. Pay attention to the walls and floor: any damage exudes negative sha, and cluttered or dark corridors limit positive energy qi. According to Feng Shui, in front of the doors of your apartment there cannot be an elevator and a staircase going down. The Chinese believe that the elevator will carry away wealth, and the stairs will lead to a decline in business. But the stairs pointing upwards are a good sign. The door of another apartment, located directly opposite yours, promises peace and harmony with the neighbors, which cannot be said about the doors shifted in relation to each other.

It happens that you cannot change anything outside your apartment. Then feng shui inside the apartment is especially important.

Inside the apartment should always create a feeling of spaciousness. If the front door opens into a cramped hallway, a large mirror should be hung there. It will symbolically expand the space and will not allow the energy of qi to get lost right at the entrance. If there is a window or back door opposite the front door, qi, having entered the apartment, immediately rushes out. In order for qi to linger in the apartment, it is enough to hide the back door with a screen, and put a flower in a tub opposite the window. It is not good if the toilet is located opposite the front door or the doors of important rooms. The toilet creates sha. To neutralize its harmful effects, the door to the toilet should be kept permanently closed, and a mirror should be hung outside (with the glass inward to make the toilet symbolically disappear).

If your apartment is always in order, then the beneficial qi energy flows smoothly and does not stagnate. Qi loses its power in dark and unused rooms. If you don't use a room regularly, air it out often and don't forget to open the door to that room at least once or twice a day.

Apartments in which the floor in all rooms is located on the same level are more favorable from the point of view of Feng Shui than multi-level or high-rise apartments.

In multi-level apartments, the kitchen and dining room should always be located above the living room so that guests do not take away all the chi when they leave.

The living room should be located next to the main entrance, and the bedrooms and kitchen should be as far away from it as possible. This creates a sense of harmony and security. The best place for the living room is the center of the apartment. According to Feng Shui, the center is a zone of good luck: it is useful for all the inhabitants of the apartment to gather here. However, you should not have a bathroom and kitchen in this place.

In the east, the kitchen is considered the main place in the apartment: there is a stove - the basis of family well-being. Large mirrors in the kitchen or dining room will not only visually enlarge this room, but also symbolically double the amount of food on the table. Residents of the East believe that the more food in the house, the higher the wealth of its owners. And one more essential detail - the stove in the kitchen should be located so that the one who cooks the food can see everyone entering the kitchen without turning his head. If the cook is standing with his back to the door, the person who enters may accidentally startle him, and this will worsen the quality of the food. This problem can be solved without moving the plate - you just need to conveniently place the mirror. The stove (or microwave oven) should not be placed opposite the entrance to the apartment, the door to the toilet or the bedroom.

After the kitchen, the most important room in the apartment is the bedroom. She must be calm and safe. Therefore, the entrance to the bedroom should not be located on the same line with the front door, as well as with the doors of the bathroom and kitchen. The bed in the bedroom should be placed so that the lying person can see everyone who enters the door. It is best to place the bed diagonally from the door and opposite it. In this case, the foot of the bed should not be facing the door. According to Feng Shui, the head of the bed should touch the wall. You can put the bed so that it touches the wall with another side; but this is only worth doing if you want to sleep alone. Chests of drawers and tables should not be placed next to the bed. Mirrors in the bedroom should be placed with extreme care. A mirror should not be hung at the foot of the bed or so that, upon waking up, a person can see his reflection. In the first case, relationships in the family will be complicated, and in the second, a person can be very frightened when awake.

It’s good if, when you wake up, you see something pleasing to the eye: a beautiful view from the window or a picture on the wall. During the day, a lot of light and fresh air should get into the bedroom, however, the direct rays of the sun should not fall on the bed.

Finally, a toilet and a bathroom. Water is used here (symbolizes money). According to Feng Shui, the finances of the owners of the apartment directly depend on the condition of these premises. The toilet lid and the doors to the toilet and bathroom should always be closed. It is good if the pipes through which the water leaves the apartment are also hidden from view. In the bathroom, you should hang large mirrors, but you don’t need to lay out the walls with mirror tiles - it creates a grid effect that impedes financial flow. Faulty faucets are a symbol of lost money. However, this applies to all household appliances.

Let me remind you once again that all premises and equipment in the apartment must be kept clean and in working condition. Then you won't have any problems at work.

In conclusion, I will say a few more words about balance and harmony. Feng Shui always involves the balance of yin and yang: light and dark, light and heavy, high and low, etc. Therefore, equipping your home according to the principles of Feng Shui, try to evenly distribute furniture in the rooms. Choose harmonious colors for walls, ceilings, floors and carpets. And most importantly: as a result, your apartment should not look “somehow strange.” On the contrary, it should become cozy and pleasant for its inhabitants.

Good luck, harmony and prosperity!

How good (in terms of energy) when a person has the opportunity to choose a site for the construction of his house and has the means to build it! Unfortunately, the majority of people are “huddled” in big cities and are forced to choose from what is available (and there are not so many!).

If, when choosing a site, a person first of all evaluates the impact of external factors, and then proceeds to the internal arrangement of premises, then in urban conditions the assessment environment usually takes less time due to limited space around your home or place of work.

And yet, do not be lazy when it comes to a place where you plan to live for quite a long time. First evaluate the large structures and buildings in the vicinity of your home or office, then the objects located in the vicinity of the study area.

If external conditions are clearly unfavorable, then further analysis does not make sense. Unlike natural landscapes, artificial structures are mostly devoid of internal energy, as they exist only for a short time. However, they can direct the flow of energy or prevent the movement of destructive energy.

HOW TO CHOOSE A FENG SHUI HOUSE AND APARTMENT?

First of all, pay attention to the larger and possibly distant structures that have the strongest energetic impact on the area being studied. As a rule, these structures are not amenable to adjustment (it is impossible to rearrange a high-rise building or push back a freeway).

The influence of these structures is enormous, but in some cases the negative energy they direct into your home can be mitigated with the help of corrective agents (see the chapter "Correction in Architecture").

Auspicious structures primarily include gardens and parks, especially those with conifers and other evergreen trees, which symbolize health and longevity, as they do not shed their foliage with the onset of cold weather. Gardens and flower beds symbolize growth and prosperity. The most favorable is the location of the park on the front side of the house.

It will be easy and happy to live in a house where domes or rounded buildings with smooth outlines are visible, these can be churches, and, for example, stadiums.

Ponds and fountains have an equally beneficial effect on the surrounding area, which is why in ancient estates at the entrance, in front of the entrance to the house, a fountain was often located.

Water symbolizes well-being and prosperity, it is good when there is a reservoir, a spring or a small river with a smooth flow near the house or office.

Unfavorable Structures

Unfavorable structures include any structure with sharp corners directed towards the house. Hazardous objects include transformers on power lines, construction cranes and high-rise towers. Structures with a shiny surface, which are located in front of the house, collect negative energy and reflect the destructive flow of energy.

As a rule, these are glass or metal structures, the mirrored walls of skyscrapers, apartment buildings with a large area of window panes, as well as poorly located ponds that reflect the sun's rays onto nearby houses or the bright light of lanterns.

Unfavorable also include horizontal structures, which, as it were, "cut" the house. These are power lines, overpasses and overpasses that are within sight when viewed from the window.

Dangerous feng shui neighbors for your home

From a Feng Shui point of view, very large structures that rise or overhang the house are also considered dangerous neighbors. They have a depressing effect on the residents, constantly "belittling" their significance in the surrounding reality. In the city, these structures can be dams, towers and skyscrapers.

Favorable Structures

Once you have assessed the large distant structures, begin to study the impact of nearby objects.

Auspicious structures include small ponds or fountains.

Located in front of the house, they significantly improve the circulation of energy flows and freshen the air. It is only necessary to ensure that the water does not stagnate and is not polluted. Objects with smooth, rounded outlines, located near the house, have a beneficial effect.

These include most sculptures (except for some abstract and modernist works), smooth stones and boulders, alpine slides and bulk flower beds, as well as trees and shrubs with rounded crowns.

Pergolas and pavilions located next to the house create favorable Feng Shui. Semicircular bay windows dissipate negative energy flows directed towards the house.

Particularly harmful items

Pointed and angular objects pointing to the house are especially harmful, as they direct a stream of negative energy in your direction. Worst of all, if they point to the front door or bedroom window. Such dangerous details can be: building corner, roof ridge, pyramidal spire, square pipe, TV antenna, decorative elements, etc.

Especially harmful are satellite dishes that reflect light and are equipped with a pointed antenna, as they simultaneously accumulate and focus destructive energy.

Pay attention to billboards depicting cutting objects or tools of destruction, since even images of sharp and angular objects can be no less dangerous than the objects themselves. Beware of the long branches of trees that stretch menacingly towards the house.

Try to remove knotty or splintered branches that give the impression of a hidden threat. Large lifeless objects located near the house have negative impact by absorbing energy from the environment.

These include dry trees with an abundance of branches and roots, heaps of stones and building rubble, pits and deep ditches. Long thin objects located parallel to the house are also unfavorable for residents.

Examples include lines of wires, cables, and even clotheslines, as long as they stay in the same place all the time.

Any large immovable object located in front of the main entrance will block the flow of favorable energy, and will create a symbolic barrier in your path. Because of this, you will constantly encounter obstacles in any of your endeavors.

Pay attention to the general situation in the area

Having studied the immediate "neighbors" of the house proposed for housing, pay attention to the general situation in the area. For such an assessment, there are a number of general recommendations for taking into account favorable and unfavorable factors.

Where is the best place to live?

It is best to live in natural natural conditions- among forests, meadows, rivers and lakes. If you live in a city, then first of all you should look for housing located near a park, lake or nature conservation area.

Plants and water radiate auspicious energy. It is good to live near the temple, the center of spiritual development.

Activities that promote spiritual development, create nourishing energy and have a stabilizing, strengthening effect on the entire surrounding area. It is considered favorable location next to the house of a kindergarten or playground.

Children radiate vital energy, charging the place with cheerfulness and optimism. It is even better if the playground is located not in the courtyard, but in a small park.

A source of beneficial energy are various institutions where there is a benevolent communication between people. These include various interest clubs, cozy cafes, small restaurants, shops and small food markets (wholesale does not count).

Simply put, it is good to live where there is a “spirit of place” that distinguishes this area from others. All kinds of sports and health facilities are also a source of healing energy.

These include skating rinks, swimming pools, gyms, fitness clubs and healing, yoga and meditation centers.

Also sources of healing energy include homeopathic pharmacies and oriental medicine shops; schools, colleges and lyceums, where the work of teachers and students is aimed at learning and self-improvement, will also have a beneficial effect on the area you have chosen.

However, hospitals and specialized clinics cannot be attributed to favorable factors, since in modern cities they are associated in people with illness, suffering and death.

Don't sit next to

Try not to settle near cemeteries, morgues, crematoria and funeral parlors, in general, with any organizations associated with death and funerals. They accumulate and intensify stagnant energy, create an atmosphere of gloom and despondency.

Of course, you should not buy an apartment if the house is located next to a prison, police station and other institutions associated with crime.

In such areas, flows of wandering aggressive energy are created, caused by an excess of violence. Avoid houses located near power plants and high voltage lines.

A powerful concentration of energy in these places disrupts the movement of natural energy flows and has a destructive effect on both the mental and physical health inhabitants of the dwelling. Do not buy housing located near landfills or recycling facilities.

Waste contains a lot of stagnant energy, which is transferred to the surrounding area. It is not recommended to live in close proximity to casinos, amusement parks and crowded shopping centers.

The powerful contradictory energy of such places and the constant cash flow have an adverse effect on the residents of this area.

And certainly you should not buy housing next to a meat processing plant, a slaughterhouse and other similar places. Any activity associated with the murder generates destructive energy, and this necessarily affects the inhabitants of the area.

In such an important matter as choosing a place of residence, it is best to rely on your own intuition, and if for some reason you don’t like a place, then there are reasons for that, even if you yourself don’t understand why exactly you feel discomfort. By trusting your intuition, you will soon be able to make sure that your feelings do not deceive you.

In most cases, modern urban architecture cannot be considered a model of harmony and balance - this fact is well known. The standard urban rectangular "box" is not the worst option.

It is much more dangerous for residents of buildings with overhanging parts, ledges of several floors, unevenly sloping, with pitched roofs, etc. The basic law of Feng Shui says: all sharp corners directed at a person, lines or structures hanging overhead, as well as all What seems unbalanced, incomplete and disproportionate has an adverse effect.

High-rise buildings, located among the same high-rise buildings, should not have pointed roofs or a spire - this leads (due to an excess of active male energy) to violations of the overall balance.

Buildings with extensions that are in the shape of a boot (the first floors are much wider than the last) are also considered unfavorable for living, since people living or working in the “sole” of this building will be subject to various troubles, deprived of luck.

If the building resembles a “butcher’s knife”, that is, the wide part of the building is several floors, and a small tower rises above it on one side, in this case, the “knife blade” is sharply negative for living, that is, the side of the wide part farthest from the tower.

The most favorable forms of the building.

Rectangular or square building shapes are the most favorable. It is best when the facade of the building is narrower than its sides (the building is deep). A trapezoidal facade, tapering upwards, is also quite acceptable.

Negative energy flows down

A building that towers over others, "suppresses" the neighbors, as the negative energy flows down. On the other hand, too high a height above the surrounding landscape is also harmful: in this case, the house turns out to be like a hilltop, on which no energy lingers.

It is best when the houses are in a quarter, an area of approximately the same height: in this case, the energy is distributed evenly. Higher neighboring buildings can have both positive and negative effects - it's all about the relative position.

The worst of the options for such a neighborhood is considered if a tall building is located in front of the facade of your house.

If a high-rise building is located behind the house, then such an arrangement is already considered favorable, since the high-rise building is interpreted by Feng Shui as a protecting hill.

Very good symbol

A very good symbol is a high-rise building, which is located to the north of your house and does not have sharp corners directed in your direction.

The houses on the left and right may be slightly taller than yours. When the right house (if you turn to the front of your house) is slightly higher than your house and the house on the left, this means that they form a classic pair of “patron hills”: the Green Dragon and the White Tiger.

If the Tiger is higher than the Dragon, this will lead to an imbalance of energies and may change the ratio of the elements. In this case, the flow of energy into your home will be difficult, and it will have to be regulated artificially.

In most modern cities, there is a standard rectangular building pattern, in which houses stand along the street in orderly rows. On such streets, neighboring buildings almost do not affect each other, except perhaps due to different heights and colors.

In relatively new microdistricts, there are high-rise buildings deployed across the street and even diagonally. In this case, the corners of the walls and roofs of these houses begin to send "poison arrows" to neighboring houses, therefore, their residents need to urgently take protective measures.

Sometimes even low old houses are "hostile" to the appearance of neighbors: their two- and four-pitched roofs form a negative energy flow with their ridges, directed to apartments and offices located at the same height level.

Enclosed yard ("well")

A high fence or a blank wall located in front of the main entrance or window will definitely overwhelm you, leading to gloomy thoughts. Worse than such an obstacle can only be a closed courtyard (“well”), into which almost no fresh energy enters, and the one that enters is immediately carried away upwards.

Residents of the upper floors can still get some crumbs, and on the lower floors it is necessary to take measures against the "sucking" of life-giving energy from the apartment.

If such measures are taken, and at the same time the entrance to the entrance is not inside the "well", but goes outside, then there are chances to turn the opposite side of the yard into a protecting "turtle".

The meaning of the street in front of the house

From the point of view of Feng Shui, the street in front of the house is extremely important. It symbolizes the water flow, which can both generate favorable energy and carry it away. The greater the speed of movement along the street, the faster the flow.

It turns out that a quiet street will bring you energy, and a freeway will not only bring nothing, but even deprive you of what has accumulated in the house for years.

It affects the life-giving energy at home very badly Railway, metro line, as well as tram or trolleybus wires under the window.

Much depends not only on the speed, but also on the direction of the flow. If the house you live in is at a crossroads, bend, or turn in the road, pay attention to where the traffic is directed.

If the house stands on the outside of the bend, this is an unfavorable location, but if it is inside the bend, know that such a movement around the house can bring good luck to it and protect the inhabitants.

Not only the road can generate negative flows, but also the gap between buildings, especially if it is located opposite the window of your apartment or the main entrance.

The negative flow that passes through the formed gap between the houses is greatly enhanced if the buildings on the sides of the passage are high-rise.

candle houses

Two multi-storey "towers" located in parallel is a very bad combination, especially if they are the same in architecture, and their tops are illuminated at night: a clear association with funeral candles appears.

Such "candles" are able to take away luck not only from those who live in them, but also from all places where they are visible.

A variety of troubles, accidents, etc. occur next to them. Remember the sad fate of the famous American "twins" blown up by terrorists.

The part of the city where such "candles" are located will gradually lose its significance and fall into decay.

Partially, this influence can be weakened by "extinguishing" the candles (turning off the night lighting) or by building several more buildings of the same height and similar in architecture nearby.

From the point of view of Feng Shui, it is customary to consider also the view of the building from above (plan). The most suitable for business, industrial or educational centers are several rectangular buildings located in a row one after another, such a building resembles the Chinese character for “good luck” or “king”.

Octagonal or round buildings

Buildings that are octagonal or round in plan are the most favorable both for the people in them and for those around them. The sloping or rounded corner of the house is perfect for shops, cafes and other establishments whose well-being depends on the number of visitors.

The appearance and decoration of the house from the outside are also of no small importance for the energy of the house and for the surrounding area.

Gloomy gray blocks of concrete or chipped brickwork with traces of mortar, even on a sunny day, have a rather depressing effect on a person.

Under the cloudy autumn sky, their appearance brings melancholy and hopelessness. Too bright colors can also spoil Feng Shui, especially if they draw attention to a building of not the best architecture.

Two colors for the home

A house painted in two colors looks harmonious, one of which is background, and the other emphasizes any architectural details. It is best to use colors of calm shades. Bright scarlet or deep red should be used with great care, as many people associate them with blood.

Large surfaces painted in scarlet or unexpected details accentuated with red paint can cause serious tension and subconscious anxiety.

Patterns and reliefs with natural, floral motifs and smooth lines evoke bright positive emotions.

You should be careful with broken lines, crosses, rhombuses, masks of various monsters, as they create psychological stress and significantly worsen Feng Shui of the entire surrounding space.

What windows should be

Windows are the “eyes” of a home, so their shape, size, and location are important. For any home, the optimal combination is three windows per door.

So that the house does not give the impression of a “glass house”, it is better to place windows on two walls, and make two deaf or with very small windows.

The facade of a multi-storey building, of course, cannot meet this rule: there are dozens of windows per entrance door. However, there are many ways to harmoniously distribute windows and break up a huge “window space”: you can divide the wall with lines of balconies or loggias, visually separate the floors with different colors or finishes, put window frames of different shapes, stained glass, etc. on different floors.

In a building with a solid wall or a line of windows, it is unlikely that it will be possible to achieve advantages in obtaining additional energy flows, but then everyone will get the trouble equally.

It is desirable that the northern walls of the house be completely windowless, and if there are already windows, it is advisable to close them tightly with blinds. It is not advisable to have windows in the west, it is believed that the western and northern directions are unlucky.

The windows on the first floor, their shape and size, are of great importance for the penetration of positive energy into the house.

If there are no windows at all on the first floor, such a house will look like an impregnable fortress, pushing away both people and energy flows.

It is better to make a window opening expanding outward, because if it is narrowed, it will, like a funnel, draw out all the luck, money and accumulated energy from the residents. The most successful shape for windows is rectangular or square.

In modern houses, you can find hexagonal, round or triangular windows - they are very unfavorable for the house and the people living in it.

Tinted mirrored glass is best suited for hot sunny places, where they work to reflect excessive sunlight, although in central Russia (where most Russians actually live) there is nothing special to reflect, since there is not enough sun.

But if you really want to keep up with fashion, you can use blue tinted glass on the ground floor, and greenish or brown-orange glass on the upper floors, since from the point of view of the compatibility of elements, water (blue color) on the mountain (upper floors) is very bad sign.

It is customary to install bars on the windows of the first floors, since open window is for thieves as if an invitation to enter. The shape of the lattice, you guessed it, is of great importance for the inhabitants of the house.

Lattices with a square pattern are unfavorable, since this form symbolizes a trap: the inhabitants of the apartment are in danger of being imprisoned for life in everyday problems and quarrels without the ability to get out of them. In lattices with a triangular pattern, the element of Fire is strongly expressed.

If the triangles are directed downwards, such a pattern can provoke the beginning of a career downturn for the owner of the house. Triangles pointing upwards promise prosperity and career growth to ambitious and purposeful people. But fire element you need to beware: it brings with it not only strength, but also hidden aggression, and this can manifest itself in intra-family relations. Lattices with a rectangular pattern express stability.

Round lattice elements symbolize completeness and well-being. Lattices with round images and curlicues will be good for businessmen, diplomats, teachers and other people who, by the nature of their work, have to communicate a lot with partners, students, and subordinates.

And finally, a few words about the sore - our balconies, balconies and loggias.

In urban apartments, balconies are not only a place to relax. The balcony is a receiver of energy that flows into the house.

Therefore, all requirements that apply to doors will apply to it (see the next chapter).

The shape of the balcony is also very important in terms of Feng Shui. The triangular shape of the balcony is unstable and dangerous for the residents of the apartment, as it symbolizes the element of Fire. It is unlikely that you will be comfortable relaxing on such a balcony. The square balcony symbolizes conservatism and the inability to adapt, to navigate the changing energy flows.

Balconies located in a niche create a separate closed space and therefore also unfavorable. A small balcony in the form of a quarter of a circle (sector) is capable of great mischief - to prevent the owner or hostess of the apartment from arranging their fate (marrying or getting married), since this form of balcony first of all upsets the balance between male and female principles.

The symmetrical balcony with beveled edges in the shape of a trapezoid symbolizes wealth and prosperity. The rounded outer corner of the balcony contributes to the smooth movement of energy flows into the house and brings peace and prosperity to the owners.

The short course in urban Feng Shui has come to an end. Now it seems to you that it is simply impossible to fulfill all the conditions, that thousands of poisoned energy arrows are flying at you from all sides. Do not rush to draw conclusions. With almost any home, you can at least do something to make it more comfortable and harmonious, so do not despair!

FENG SHUI FOR HOME - HALLWAY

There are houses and apartments, entering which from the street, you immediately find yourself in a living room or kitchen. But still, in most modern apartments and private houses there is an entrance hall, maybe a small one. If the size of your hallway is very modest, it is important not to clutter it with unnecessary things and furniture.

The hallway should be well lit and kept clean so that the qi energy does not stagnate, creating a feeling of apathy and fatigue.

It is bad if in such a small hallway there is a staircase leading to the second floor. The qi energy in this case will not cover the first floor, immediately rising up. You can correct the situation by hanging shamisen or bells, which will slow down the movement of qi energy. Since there is nowhere to hang a mirror, you can install an ornamental plant obliquely from the entrance, which, moreover, will improve the interior.

If the staircase is located on the side of the entrance, you can put a partition or a movable screen that forms a barrier that prevents the exit of qi. If you hang a mirror on the side of the door, it will increase its size.

The hallway is not the center family life, therefore, a neutral yin-yang balance should be maintained here in both decoration and lighting.

If the hallway is very bright and angular, this can be softened with pastel colors and curtains, or the brightness of the light can be reduced. If the hallway is too dark, use more saturated colors, increase the lighting and hang pictures or photographs in rectangular frames on the walls.

You can use rugs when attracting beneficial qi energy. Choose a color that matches the direction of the front door: red for the south, brown for the southwest, etc., as well as additional colors: green for the south, red for the southwest.

To bring good luck into the house, Feng Shui masters advise to brightly illuminate the area located in front of the front door and immediately behind it.

Walkways and corridors

From the hallway, the qi energy spreads throughout the house through the aisles and corridors. This is reminiscent of its flow along the meridians of the human body. Qi should move freely, but not randomly. Long empty corridors usually get on people's nerves and make them unconsciously speed up their pace. If qi stagnates in remote corners, it creates a feeling of gloom and despondency.

To prevent the qi energy from flowing too fast and in a straight line, you can hang mirrors on the walls that create the effect of a wave-like movement.

You can also use wall decorations, dim lamps, hanging pots with climbing plants, if space permits.

As a rule, corridors cause problems more often in office spaces than at home. But if you have a large apartment or a separate house, you should pay attention to this.

Both in the hallways and in the corridors, cleanliness and yin-yang balance should be maintained, using a relatively neutral tone of wallpaper or wall upholstery.

FENG SHUI FOR THE HOUSE - FRONT DOOR

The front door is the main entrance and exit for the flow of chi energy. In an ideal situation, qi is accumulated and distributed in the space in front of the house, and its flows are activated by the movement of people entering and leaving. In ancient China, the front door was called the “mouth of the house,” through which all positive and negative energy passes.

First of all, you should make sure that the “secret arrows” that we have already talked about are not directed at the front door. To do this, stand in front of the door and look around. Pay attention to any sharp corners, drains, satellite dishes, lampposts, or spiers directing negative sha energy toward the front door.

Obstacles on the way to the front door worsen feng shui. If there is not enough room in front of the door for the accumulation of qi, this can be corrected by painting the door in the color of the direction in which it opens, or by hanging a lantern over it to illuminate the space in front of the door well.

The location of the front door at the foot of the stairs is considered unfavorable for the health of family members. An easy way to avoid negative impacts is to raise the threshold by 1-2 centimeters so that you have to step over it when entering the house. The same remedy can be used if the door leads to an elevator, as this also impedes the free movement of qi.

If the front door is located at the top of the stairs, then tenants may find that money does not stay with them for a long time. In such cases, it is recommended to hang a medium-sized round or octagonal mirror above the door to reflect negative energy.

Front door direction

The sector of the house where the front door is located, as well as the direction in which it faces, is associated with the head of the family. Traditionally, in a Chinese family, the eldest man has always been the head. These days, of course, this is not always the case, so you need to think and decide if this direction meets your needs and the desires of your partner.

If the front door faces northwest, this is considered a good direction for the father and the eldest man in the family. It will favor such qualities as leadership and dignity of this family member, trust and respect for him from other residents.

The north-facing door creates a peaceful lifestyle for the inhabitants of the house. However, there is a possibility that calmness will turn into lethargy and apathy and eventually develop into mutual alienation. If you are concerned about this, you can enter the qualities of the opposite element to activate other characteristics of chi energy. Add a touch of the earth element to the water element, such as painting the door brown or ocher yellow, or hanging a small crystal in the hallway.

In the northeast, the energies are quite volatile, and residents of houses whose front doors face in this direction are likely to be actively affected by external forces. But if other indications of feng shui are favorable, this direction is great for young people who want to expand their knowledge and get an education.

The Eastern direction is also favorable for young people, especially if they are just starting their careers and dream of realizing their ideas and aspirations. It promises a bright future for those involved in business and commercial transactions.

The southeast direction of the front door is favorable for those who want to improve their financial situation. Progress will be slow but sure, and peace and prosperity will reign in the family.

The door that faces south promotes active life and social activities, helps those who strive for recognition and even fame. However, in such a situation, one should proceed with caution, since self-indulgence can create a tense atmosphere and lead to quarrels in the family. If necessary, moderate the fire by adding symbols of the element of water to this direction.

If the front door faces the southwest, this is considered the most favorable for the mother of the family. The southwestern direction contributes to strong and harmonious family relations, although there is a danger that the mother's personality will become too dominant and intrusive, destroying the overall harmony. To soften this effect, you can bring in colors or symbols associated with the tree.

A door that faces west is good for families with small children, it provides the best opportunity for their rapid creative development. This direction is also associated with romantic feelings and pleasure. However, you need to make sure that your hobbies do not lead to excessive expenses. Here you can add some stability given by the earth element.

The shape and color of the front door

Having established the direction of the main door of the house, you should choose a color or shade that matches this direction in order to maintain the qualities of one or another element. For example, if you want to emphasize the quality of the stability of a southwest-facing door, you can paint it red; if the inhabitants of the house are more in need of family harmony, you can choose brown or yellow. If circumstances change, the door can always be repainted using spawn cycle elements.

If the door faces west or northwest, then the qualities of the main element - metal can be enhanced with a white, golden or silver tint, and yellow or brown can be used for support. Do not use red, blue and black colors.

The north-facing door can be painted blue, black, or white, as you choose. Avoid brown, yellow and green colors.

If the door faces northeast or southwest, brown or yellow should be used as the main color, and red or orange as the secondary color. Green and white colors are not recommended.

For a door facing east or southeast, the best colors are green, black or blue, not white.

The south-facing door can be painted red or green color; blue and black cannot be used. To a lesser extent, yellow and brown should be avoided.

In addition, the forms associated with the main five elements can be used to improve the qualities of qi passing through the front door.

If the front door faces north, use the symbols of water to enhance its cleansing properties and the symbols of metal for strength and support.

If the front door faces east and southeast, you can use tree symbols to activate growth and development opportunities and water symbols to cleanse and renew.

If the front door faces south, the symbols of fire will give liveliness and good spirits to the inhabitants of the house. Additionally, tree element symbols can be used.

If the front door faces the southwest and northeast, the symbols of the earth element emphasize its stability. As additional, you can use the symbols of the element fire.

If the front door faces west and northwest, the symbols of metal will give it strength and strength. Additionally, you can use the symbols of the earth element.

Entrance door style

Since the front door is designed to protect the house, it should be solid and strong, but in no case glass. In addition, it should be the largest in the house in order to ensure the maximum flow of qi energy into the living quarters. In height, it should exceed the tallest member of the family. In this case, no one will experience inconvenience when entering the house or going out.

Well, if the front door opens inside the house. If it opens outward, it is better to hang it by placing hinges on the other side. This is what Feng Shui masters say.

If windows are located on the sides of the front door, then the qi energy, having entered the house through the door, can freely exit through them, bypassing the house. In this case, lace curtains on the windows or potted plants on the windowsill will protect you.

Where does the front door open?

Ideally, the front door should be hung from the side closest to the wall of the house or apartment and open towards this wall. This creates a sense of space and promotes good hallway feng shui. If the door is hung on the opposite side, the person entering is momentarily enclosed and feels uncomfortable.

If the front door is opposite the back door (i.e., the “back door”), this creates a powerful flow of qi, which, passing through the house, practically does not stop in it. To correct the situation, it is necessary to install barriers in the form of mirrors, screens or decorative lattices on the way of qi movement. If it is difficult to build a physical barrier between the front door and the back door, then you can improve the situation by hanging a curtain in front of the second door. Moreover, it does not have to be a heavy velvet curtain, it is too expensive for a corridor, an ordinary muslin curtain, which has an attractive appearance, is also suitable.

Entering any building, be it your home, your friends' home, or even your work space, you immediately feel how harmonious the interior is. If you immediately bump into the corner of a wall or the edge of a large closet when you enter, you will almost certainly have an instant spoiled mood. Such a negative impact can be mitigated by using a decorative screen, plants or ornaments.

FENG SHUI FOR THE HOME - TOILET AND BATHROOM

As a rule, when planning and decorating a house, the bathroom is given the least attention. The actual layout of the components in the bathroom rarely leaves room for choice, and if you buy new house or an apartment, the last thing you get your hands on is a complete remodeling of the bathroom.

In the bathroom, there is a general rule for the whole house: no matter what you do, you must see every person entering. Of course, it is unlikely that someone will enter there while you are taking a shower or sitting on the toilet. However, each piece of furniture must be positioned so that the person using it does not have their back to the door.

When you enter the bathroom, you should not immediately see the toilet. This can be avoided by rearranging the door so that it “covers” the toilet instead of opening towards it. On fig. on the right is a good position for the door if the toilet cannot be moved to another place; dashed line indicates unfavorable position.

Leaking water is unfavorable from the point of view of feng shui. In addition, it is believed that she takes money from your house. Therefore, it is imperative to ensure that the taps in the bathroom, shower, water in the toilet do not leak. If this still happened, the damage should be repaired immediately. This also applies to faucets in the kitchen.

Bath and shower

The main piece of furniture in the bathroom is a bath - either without a shower, or combined with a shower. Usually the bath has a rectangular shape, which, of course, saves a lot of free space. However, if you have the opportunity to install a semicircular or oval bath, use it. Such baths are especially good because they reproduce the curves of a coin, and in combination with the element of water, which symbolizes money, this is conducive to wealth and prosperity.

Decor

The bathroom should be dominated by white or very soft pastel colors. Avoid bright colors. Small objects can be used to stimulate qi energy in certain areas. In a shared bathroom, the bathtub, shower and toilet should be of the same color and design, with white faience and chromed metal being better than dark colors.

The bathroom floor should be tiled, but not too cold to the touch.

If the bathroom has a window, it is better to use blinds instead of a curtain. The bathroom curtain should be made of waterproof material to prevent the steam from damaging the fabric.

Drawers, shelves and cabinets

These items should be simple, functional and go well with the style of the bathroom. Perhaps the most important feature of shelves, cabinets and nightstands in the bathroom is that they need to be used. At first glance, it sounds strange, but according to feng shui, there is nothing worse than a bathroom full of lotions, shampoos, creams and all sorts of little things that are not used. Chi energy should move as smoothly as possible, and rows of vials and bottles do not contribute to this.

If you don't have enough free space to store these items in wall cabinets or nightstands, you can either purchase larger ones, or, and this is the easiest solution, leave only what is really needed. In many bathrooms you can see a real exhibition of detergents and cosmetics, but not all of them are used daily. When you remove all unnecessary and put things in order on shelves and cabinets, the chi energy will circulate much more freely, and the bathroom will be more conducive to relaxation.

Toilet

Since water is associated with wealth and with the flow of qi, flushing the toilet regularly makes one approach the feng shui of this room with extreme caution. In whatever area of the house or apartment the toilet is located, some of the qualities of this area will “wash away” with water if you do not take precautions. Therefore, the best position for the toilet is where the excess energy can compensate for its consumption.

If the toilet is located in a separate room from the bathroom, it will be more invisible. The toilet lid and toilet door should always be kept closed, especially if the toilet is located next to the front or bedroom door.

On the outside of the toilet door, you can hang a mirror that will reflect the flow of energy. This should be done if the toilet is located in an unfavorable location.

The toilet brings a strong yin influence to the environment, so you can, if necessary, add some yang elements to its interior to create balance.

Good air circulation (and therefore chi energy) is important regardless of the location of the toilet, so the toilet should either have a small window or a vent.

Any thing or living space has its own unique energy. Many people try to equip their home in such a way that all family members and guests feel comfortable here. Can help with this ancient teaching from China - Feng Shui, which is already more than 2 thousand years old.

The name, consisting of a couple of words, translates as air-water. The doctrine says that certain zones are responsible for any sphere of human life, and living space is divided into them. Having properly equipped this or that site, it is possible to achieve success in life.

There are 9 feng shui zones in the apartment, represented on the Ba Gua octagon as career, family, children, wealth, health, fame, love, career and wisdom. According to ancient history, about 2 thousand years ago, a large turtle came ashore, the shell of which was decorated with a divine message in the form of trigrams ordered in a circle. They were deciphered by a sage named Fu Xi. Ba-Gua consists of eight trigrams turned to the cardinal directions, and the ninth is located in the center.

Finding zones

In order to independently delimit the feng shui zones in your home in the correct order, you should acquire a compass, an apartment plan and an octagonal Ba-Gua grid.

First of all, with the help of a compass, the place in the house where the north is located is determined. This is the starting point. Having marked the north on the plan, they combine it with the Ba-Gua trigram, which is responsible for a career, laying out the grid on the plan, it becomes clear where a specific zone is located in the house.

However, due to modern non-standard layouts, the layout of the apartments does not always fit into the Ba Gua grid. Often, some zones simply fall out. It is possible to harmonize the missing areas by strengthening them in the largest room - the living room. To do this, the room is divided into sectors by the same method so that the dropped zones are included in the Ba-Gua grid.

After delimiting the space into zones, you can begin to activate each individual sphere.

feng shui rules

Feng Shui of an apartment depends not only on the competent activation of a particular area, but also on adhering to general rules.

Most important rule- maintaining cleanliness in every corner of the living space. The Teaching forbids the accumulation and storage of unnecessary things, as this contributes to the accumulation of destructive energy.

Much attention is given to the windows. They must be kept clean. Through large openings, the auspicious energy "qi" penetrates well inside. A coating of dust and dirt on the windows indicates a buildup bad energy. It is also unacceptable to clutter up the window sills with a large number of flower pots.

All old, broken, unnecessary things and equipment must be thrown out of the house, as they accumulate negative energy. The same applies to first aid kits and ladies' cosmetics.

In order for a good feng shui apartment to be constantly present, it is necessary to frequently move objects in the rooms. Then the energy "qi" will be able to circulate freely in space. To do this, it is enough to change the location of any 27 items in the house, for example, swap photo frames or outweigh paintings.

All plumbing must work flawlessly, and the bathroom and bathroom remain perfectly clean. And to attract cash flows, you should close the toilet lid.

So, in order for favorable energy flows to be able to penetrate the house and begin to have a beneficial effect on the life of the household, after dividing the space into separate zones, each of them should be activated.

feng shui odnushki

It is still possible to design a one-room apartment according to Feng Shui, even despite its small area. To do this, you should free up space from unnecessary and overall things so that the "qi" energy can circulate freely.

Using the Ba-Gua octagon, you need to delimit the zones, and then also activate each by placing the necessary paraphernalia.

Photos of the design of a small apartment according to Feng Shui show that any room can be both beautiful and energetically positively charged, if you follow simple recommendations and advice.

Photo of the basics of feng shui apartment

Many thousands of years ago, the ancient Chinese discovered that if a person does not fight with nature, but lives in harmony with it, then the quality of his life improves markedly. They found that life flows more smoothly if the house faces the sun and is protected from the cold northern winds by hills. Naturally, it is good that a stream flows slowly in front of the house.

Year after year, various ideas were tested, and over time, the basic principles of feng shui were formed. This art is about five thousand years old. No one knows exactly who and how laid the foundation for it. The founding of feng shui is attributed to Wu of Xia, the first of the three mythical emperors of China.

According to legend, Wu carried out irrigation work on the Yellow River. One day a giant tortoise crawled out of it. This was considered a favorable sign, since in those days it was believed that gods lived under the shell of turtles. When Wu looked more closely, he saw on the turtle's back a regular magic square formed by the lines of the shell.

In it, the sum of the numbers in each of the vertical, horizontal rows and diagonals was 15. This was so unusual that Wu called the wise men to study the turtle. As a result of the meeting of the wise, not only feng shui appeared, but also Yijing (The so-called Book of Changes. - Approx. Per.), Chinese astrology and numerology. Thus, feng shui was not invented by the supporters of the movement. New Age Feng Shui has been around for thousands of years.

In China, there is a proverb from which it is clear how important the art of feng shui is for the Chinese. "First, destiny, second, luck. Third, feng shui, followed by charity and education." Our destiny is revealed to us through a horoscope showing our strengths and weaknesses. Luck is harder to define, but the Chinese believe they can attract it by working on the other four principles. We can say that luck is a state of mind in which we attract what we think. In third place is Feng Shui, with which we can live in harmony with the universe. Then there is charity. Ancient Chinese philosophical and religious treatises point out that one should give selflessly. And finally, we have an education that must continue throughout our lives.

Westerners were only introduced to feng shui twenty-five years ago. Representatives of Eastern civilizations valued feng shui so much that they deliberately hid this art from strangers. Recently, Asians have settled all over the world, bringing feng shui to their new homes. Today, Feng Shui talk can be heard not only in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, but also in San Francisco, Moscow and Buenos Aires.

Today, few can afford to arrange their dwelling so that it faces south, with hills behind it, and a babbling stream flowing in front of the porch. Many of us only dream of such an ideal home. Millions of people around the world live in apartment buildings. Where there is a housing problem, people often often have no choice but to agree to the first apartment that comes up. They may feel helpless and unable to improve their environment in any way.

Fortunately, feng shui helps those who live in city apartments, no less than everyone else. In fact, here it turns out to be even more useful, since those who live in these apartments have a more urgent need for it than the inhabitants of individual houses.

By applying the principles of Feng Shui in your apartment, you can live in harmony with nature. Feng Shui will bring to your everyday life more satisfaction, happiness, and even abundance.
