"Prophecies" of Elder Jonah of Odessa (Ignatenko). III part.

On September 14, 2018, a message appeared on the website of news agencies:
"Moscow. INTERFAX.RU - In accordance with the decision of the Synod, adopted at an emergency meeting on Friday, the prayer commemoration of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople at the Divine Liturgy is stopped in the churches of the Moscow Patriarchate.
“In a critical situation, when the Constantinople side practically refused to resolve the issue through dialogue, the Moscow Patriarchate is forced to suspend the prayerful commemoration of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople at the service and, with deep regret, suspend the concelebration with the hierarchs of the Patriarchate of Constantinople,” the Synod, which took place on Friday in Moscow, said in a statement. .
“In addition, the Russian Church is suspending participation in episcopal assemblies, as well as in theological dialogues, multilateral commissions, and all other structures chaired or co-chaired by representatives of the Patriarchate of Constantinople,” Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations, said at a briefing after meeting of the Synod in Moscow.
However, according to the hierarch, this does not mean the end of Eucharistic communion, that is, the faithful of both patriarchates will still be able to receive communion from the same cup.
If the anti-canonical activity of Constantinople continues on the territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Moscow Patriarchate, according to the metropolitan, will be forced to “completely break off Eucharistic communion with Constantinople,” and full responsibility for the tragic consequences of this separation will fall “personally on Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople and the bishops supporting him” .
Members of the Moscow Synod believe that the current situation around Ukraine poses a “danger to the entire world of Orthodoxy” and therefore appeal to all local Orthodox churches for support, calling for “initiating a fraternal pan-Orthodox discussion of the church situation in Ukraine.”
a week ago Patriarch of Constantinople AT appointed two exarchs (his representatives) to Kyiv "in preparation for granting autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine." This was the answer of Constantinople to the request of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to publish a "Tomos" on the creation of a unified local church in this country.
This step of the Church of Constantinople in the Moscow Patriarchate was regarded as an invasion of its canonical territory and threatened to break off relations with Constantinople.

On the same day, an “anonymous” article appeared on the website “Blessing”: “Prophecy of Fr. Jonah on the consequences of the provoked by Bartholomew church schism in Ukraine, about the seizure of churches and the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate”, which quickly began to spread over the Internet.
Here is the text in full:
"IN last years During the life of Schema-Archimandrite Jonah (Ignatenko), we had occasion to meet him several times in Odessa at the Holy Dormition Monastery, where he labored. Batiushka answered our questions about spiritual life and salvation, questions from the history of the past and events of the future. Sometimes, even without our asking, he himself began to tell us about what interested and worried us. One day, in 2009 or 2010, he began to say the following.
The time will come when one day the parishioners will come to the service in the monastery in the evening for Vespers, and everything will be as usual: the same hymns, the same monks and confessors, the same service as always. And when they come to the liturgy in the morning, they suddenly begin to peer into their surroundings and become perplexed: there are no familiar faces of the inhabitants of the monastery, instead of the monastery priests, some strangers…
The parishioners will ask each other, and no one will be able to understand anything.
And it will happen that at night buses will be driven to the monastery, all the monks will be driven out of their cells, loaded into buses and taken out in an unknown direction. And others will be brought to the monastery, strangers, not our Church. This will be the capture of the monastery. And so it will be everywhere in Ukraine.
After such a story about. Jonah had a painful feeling in his soul: will they really kill everyone?
And there will be no more well-known sweet faces of humble monks, wise confessors and perspicacious elders?
And then how can we all be nourished, how can we confess and take communion, how can we live and be saved in general?
Then, dumbfounded by such information from the elder, we did not ask questions about how this would happen, who would arrange it, where the monks would be taken, whether they would be shot or what else would be done to them?
And only a year later, at the next meeting with Fr. Jonah, we were able to find out the answers to some of these questions.
And now, on September 10, 2018, when Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople made an unauthorized, non-canonical decision to legitimize the schismatics of the so-called Kiev Patriarchate, giving them official church status, the mechanism for seizing churches and monasteries became visible.
If in recent years church schismatics, recognized by no one and having no status, seized 50 churches of the official Church in Ukraine with the connivance of the police or with its direct participation, then by giving them the status of an independent autocephalous Church, the civil authorities of Ukraine will be able to commit the most daring lawlessness in regarding the UOC-MP. Even if this status is not recognized by any of the local Orthodox Churches.
What did we learn a year later from Fr. Jonah about the coming sad events of the distant future, which is already coming now?
The inhabitants are not shot. All of them will be taken away from the city and released into the open field. And even told where they would come.
And what about the invaders?
They will try to serve in the occupied temples and deceive people with their alleged legitimacy. But people won't believe them. Almost no one will go to such captured temples and monasteries. They will stand empty. The schismatics will be left with nothing. And in about six months they will leave in disgrace.”

At the same time, “sovereign people”, who have only personal enrichment at the state (people’s) expense in their heads, constantly blurt out, not being able or simply not caring to better disguise their “true intentions”, which just show through from all the cracks in the fabricated by them "Fakes" on the Patriotic history of prophecies.
Why is this happening?
Because there is a Providence of God, there is National history prophecies, there is a sequence of prophecies!!!
Unfortunately, it must be admitted that among today's Russian people, who even sincerely believe in the existence of God and in Orthodoxy, due to the extreme insanity and "spiritual impoverishment" of the nation, almost no one understands that these "impudent" dreams of "global leadership ”- this is the very “temptation of the Antichrist”, about which the Holy Scripture warned all Christians 2000 years ago.
No wonder one of the representatives of the clergy stated not so long ago:
“The state of the Russian people, and especially the authorities, is permeated with a neurotic, deeply painful complex of catastrophic inferiority, which is incompatible not only with Orthodox Christianity but also with elementary ethics...”.
However, a question arises to the unknown author of this "fake":
“And it will happen that at night buses will be driven to the monastery, all the monks will be driven out of the cells, loaded into buses and taken out in an unknown direction. And others will be brought to the monastery, strangers, not our Church. This will be the capture of the monastery. And this will be the case everywhere in Ukraine…”.
What can I say!!!
One can only ask a rhetorical question:
“When will you, the Kremlin’s “Internet patriots”, who fight for the “people’s” money by writing this kind of tales, stop lying to your own people”???
The question is purely rhetorical, because, of course, never, or at least until the Kremlin pays and pays well for such "fakes"!!!
As for the prophecies on the "topic of the day":

Just from the mere fact that the “patriotic idea” sucked out of the finger (if not worse) by “anonymous fighters” for so many years is still being supplemented by such similar “wretched agitators”, one can draw the inevitable conclusion that the Kremlin, in essence, has something else and nothing to say to your people.

An amazing old man lived in the Holy Dormition Monastery in Odessa - Schema-Archimandrite Jonah (Ignatenko). All the believing people of the region knew about him, revered him as a righteous man, lined up to him for advice and blessings. The enormous popularity of Jonah's father among the people was a heavy cross for him, which he resignedly carried.
In his attitude to this, he was the ideal of modern monasticism, an image of true repentance and humility... Shortly before his death, as they say, the elder said:
- A year after my death, great upheavals will begin, there will be a war. This will last two years.
- How will it all start? America will attack Russia?
- No.
- Russia will attack America?
- No.
- And then what?
- In one country, which is smaller than Russia, very big problems will arise, there will be a lot of blood. This will last two years. Then there will be a Russian tsar. As they say, the elder predicted that the first Easter after the beginning of the turmoil in Ukraine would be bloody, the second - hungry, the third - victorious. His words: "There is no separate Ukraine and Russia, but there is a single Holy Rus'."
He: “Why are you chasing this dollar ... Look, yes, these dollars are like leaves in autumn, the wind will drive along the road, no one will bend down after them, it will be cheaper than paper ...” His favorite way, in front of which he prayed in the last months and rested, there was Our Lady of Syria. He also called it "Recovery of the Lost."
It was a copy of one icon, which streamed myrrh in the temple in the form of a tear of the young Mother of God. The father said this: “And the baby Jesus hits her on the neck and says: do not cry, Mom, I will have mercy on everyone, I will save everyone for whom You are crying.” In recent months, Father has said: “Do not grieve, we will communicate spiritually. Love is above all, Love conquers all. Schema-Archimandrite Jonah (Ignatenko) was born in 1925 into a large family (the ninth child).
Forced to work from a young age. During the years of the Great Patriotic War in the rear, he worked at a defense enterprise. Then he was a tractor driver, a miner, and also worked in the oil fields. Closer to the age of 40, he fell ill with tuberculosis. “And then suddenly the moment came when I realized that that’s it, it’s impossible to live like this, it’s time to save your soul…”, the elder told his spiritual children. The story of his miraculous healing from a terrible disease is still passed from mouth to mouth among believers: “Being in the hospital, and seeing how people around him were dying from this disease, he swore to God that if the Lord healed, he would go to a monastery.
And the future elder had a vision Holy Mother of God, which pointed him to the Odessa Holy Dormition Monastery. Since then, Father Jonah has been in monastic vows.” Later, Father Jonah accepted the great schema (became a schema-archimandrite).
Despite the periodically deteriorating health, the elder provided spiritual support to all those in need - both ordinary laymen and the "powerful of this world" came to him for advice.

Prophecy about Ukraine.

Since the second half of 2014, the text of the “prophecy” of Elder Jonah of Odessa (Ignatenko) began to be actively disseminated on the Internet, after it was allegedly voiced during a sermon by Archpriest of the Lugansk diocese of the UOC-MP in Luhansk Maxim Volynets:
“Yesterday I brought to our acquaintances the almost dying words of the elder Jonah (Ignatenko) - the Odessa elder. I told them: “Here, the elder said: “A year after my death, great upheavals will begin, a war will begin, a famine will begin.” He died on December 20, 2012.
“It will last three years,” said Elder Jonah, “from the fourteenth to the sixteenth. And it will end with the Great War.
That is, look, the elder says, he answered the question of when the Third World War: "Will. It will, a year after my death, all this will begin "
They ask him: “How will it start? What, America will attack Russia?
He says no
They ask him: “What, will Russia attack America?”
He says no
"Well, what then?"

The text of the conversation was published in Orthodox elders about the Last Times" on April 13, 2014 No. 129 under the heading: "Yuri Samusenko on the prophecy of Archimandrite Jonah of Odessa."

“[…] Yuri Samusenko: The Lord, through those who prophesy, informs people of some information. The apostle Paul said: “Quench not the Spirit. Do not despise the prophecies." I can tell right away what I know from my spiritual father. Our confessor in the family was a very famous elder, Archimandrite Jonah (Ignatenko). He labored in the Odessa Monastery, where Metropolitan Agafangel was. Elder Jonah was very famous, people came to him from all points of Ukraine, and Belarus, and Russia, and from Vladivostok. The Patriarch came to meet him in order to have a tête-à-tête talk. I even have a photo where they were photographed together at a meeting, there are photos with other famous people.
Konstantin Dushenov: “Patriarch, do you mean Pimen?”
Yuri Samusenko: “Patriarch Kirill. About four years ago, when he, already a Patriarch, visited Odessa. In Odessa, on the territory of this monastery, there is the residence of the Patriarch.”
Konstantin Dushenov: “Is the father alive, is your confessor?”
Yuri Samusenko: “Batiushka has rested. And so, in connection with this, I will now say, when many people asked him, and I also asked: Father, but, behold, the third world war, which we all know about, and which we are anxiously awaiting, looking at what is in the world is happening, and, marveling at God's longsuffering, we ask ourselves the question: When will this happen? Here, who will attack Russia?
Batiushka always answered: “Yes, no one will attack Russia.”
He was asked: “Well, who will attack the United States?”
The father answered: "No one will attack."
He was asked: “Well, how will it be, what kind of war is this?”
Batiushka answered: “It will start from a small country, smaller than Russia. There will be an internal confrontation that will develop into a civil war, a lot of blood will be shed, and Russia, and the United States, and many countries will be drawn into this civil war funnel of a small country. And this will be the beginning of the third world war.
He was asked: “And when will it be, father?”
Batiushka answered: “Well, I’ll die, and in a year it will begin!!!”.
He passed away in December 2012. The Euromaidan started at the end of November at the beginning of December 2013 […]”.

As we can see: in the text of the conversation there is not a word about the two years of the war, nor about the Orthodox Tsar.

Elder Jonah of Odessa (in the world Vladimir Afanasyevich Ignatenko, 1925-2012) was the rector of the Odessa Holy Dormition Monastery. During the Great Patriotic War in Georgia, he worked at a defense enterprise. Then he was a tractor driver, a miner, and also worked in the oil fields of Azerbaijan until 1948. Then he moved to Moldova, where he lived until 1970. It is believed that Jonah began his path to the church mission after he fell ill with a severe form of tuberculosis. Seeing how the sick of this disease die, he decided to devote himself to monasticism and the service of God.
In 1971, Father Jonah was accepted into the brethren of the Holy Dormition Odessa Monastery.
In 1973, novice Vladimir was tonsured by Metropolitan Sergius (Petrov) of Odessa and Kherson into monasticism.

In 1993, Jonah became abbot, and in 1998 he received the rank of archimandrite. While still an abbot, Jonah becomes one of the confessors of the Holy Dormition Monastery.
In 2011, he accepted the great schema (became schiarchimandrite).
As they say, shortly before his death, the elder predicted:
"The first Easter after the beginning of the turmoil in Ukraine will be bloody, the second - hungry, the third - victorious."
He is also credited with saying:
“There is no separate Ukraine and Russia, but there is a single Holy Rus'. And the enemies decided to divide us in order to destroy Orthodoxy in Little Rus'. But the Lord will not allow it” (Orthodox family almanac “ Sunday School”, Issue No. 1 (3) 2013)].
But still, what awaits Ukraine?
The answer to this question is very important for us, therefore, before giving an answer to it, we will use the advice of St. Sophronius, Patriarch of Jerusalem.
The Scriptures say:
“A novice monk came to the famous ascetic, asking him to show him the path of perfection in order to learn to see events with spiritual vision.
“Tonight,” the elder said, “go to the cemetery and praise the dead buried there until morning, and then come and tell me how they will accept your praises.”
The next day, the monk returns from the cemetery:
- I fulfilled your order, father! All night long, with a loud voice, I praised these dead, magnified them as saints, blessed fathers, great righteous and saints of God, lamps of the universe, storehouses of wisdom, salt of the earth. He attributed to them all the virtues that he had only read about in the Holy Scriptures and in the Hellenic books.
- Well, what? How did they express their pleasure to you?
- Nothing, father: they kept silence all the time, I did not hear a single word from them.
- This is very surprising, - said Sofroniy, - but here's what you do: go there again this night and scold them until the morning, as much as you can: here they will probably start talking.
The next day the monk returned again with a report:
- I reviled them in every possible way and dishonored them, called them unclean dogs, diabolical vessels, apostates, equated them with all the villains from the Old and New Testaments, from Cain the fratricide to Judas the traitor, from the violent Giveonites to Ananias and Sapphira the God-deceivers, reproached them for all heresies from Simonov and Valentinov to the newly-minted Monothelite.
- So what? How did you escape their wrath? Sophrony asked.
- No way, father! they were silent all the time. I even put my ear to the graves, but no one moved.
“You see,” said Sofroniy, “you have risen to the first step of the angelic life, which is obedience. You will reach the peak of this life on earth and spiritual gaze only when you are as indifferent to praise and insults as these dead men […] ”(“ History of the Russian Church ”, vol. 1, M, 1881).
Let's follow this advice, that is, let's try to see the "tomorrow" of Ukraine with spiritual eyes, that is, indifferently, without any sympathy or predilections.
Someone will say:
"What's the point in that?"
The fact of the matter is that the "tomorrow" of Ukraine will put before Russia "the day after tomorrow" the same questions and tasks, already now visible with our own eyes, the solution of which will require the organized efforts of an entire nation. In addition: excursions into the Future, perhaps, for someone will not be useless for solving the problems of today.
The vitality of the modern “liberal” government of Ukraine depends on the fact that Ukrainians do not see politicians who can replace it, on the one hand, and financial support from Moscow for the Yatsenyuk government, on the other. And also because the majority of Ukrainians do not see that clear program in the name of which it is necessary to overthrow the modern government. Nebula "tomorrow" after the departure of the leaders of "Euromaidan" paralyzes the energy of Ukrainians "today". After the "hopes" of 2014, the people are tempted enough with practical experience not to succumb to too tempting temptations.
Will it be different tomorrow in Ukraine?
No, although all Ukrainians today dream of a reasonable and honest government.
But can they, who survived the rule of four presidents from 1991 to 2014, count on luck in modern conditions?
The political "fever" after the collapse of the USSR and the new slavery that emerged from its bowels killed both the taste for pure politics in ordinary Ukrainians and the Ukrainian intelligentsia. Today, Ukraine will accept any power that will replace modern politicians, without asking about their legal titles. The only thing she will expect from the new rulers is the fulfillment of the “next national” worldview.
Therefore, in order to understand the Future of Ukraine, let's turn to Michel Nostradamus (1503-1566), who was a true believer, firmly convinced that the Providence of God exists and influences the fate of mankind.

The first edition of The Prophecies of Master Michel Nostradamus was published in Lyon in the early summer of 1555 by the printer Mace Bonhomme. It contained the first three centuries and opened with a "Message" to the son of Nostradamus ("Nostradamus Michel. Les Proph; ties de Michel Nostradamus ad Caesarem Nostradamum filium", A Lyon, chez Mac; Bonhomme, 1555) [not a single copy has survived to this day ]. Those two single copies of the 1555 edition, which were discovered in the eighties of the XVII century, and which contain 353 quatrains (combined into chapters - centuries of 100 quatrains, the fourth century is incomplete and includes only 53 quatrains), most researchers believe later reprint.
The second edition of The Prophecies of Master Michel Nostradamus, issued in the same printing house of Lyon by Antoine du Rhone in 1557, ("Les Proph;ties de M. Nostradamus. Dont il en y a trois cents qui n ont encores iamais este imprimees", a Lyon, Chez Antoine du Rosne, 1557) contained an additional 341 new quatrains. It includes, in addition to the “Letter to his son Cesar”, seven centuries, of which the seventh contains only 42 quatrains, and in place of the last quatrain of the sixth, an unnumbered quatrain: a warning to ignorant critics [a total of 642 quatrains, also not preserved]. The circulation of the second edition is not exactly known, researchers write about two to three thousand books.
Some biographers believe that three copies of the second edition have survived: the first is in the Dutch city of Utrecht, the second is in Budapest, and the third is in the Book Museum of the Russian State Library in Moscow. The first copy includes 642 quatrains, and the other two - 639.
Three months after the death of Michel Nostradamus, all ten centuries were presented to the general public, including the last three, which were written before 1555 [this should be clearly understood by everyone, despite the fact that the book was printed in parts, but it was written in full before the first publication] .
This edition for 1566, the earliest surviving full text of the Centuries, contains: "Message to Cesar", 946 quatrains and "Epistole" to King Henry II (A L "INVICTISSIME, TRESPUIS-SANT, ET treschrestien Henry Roy de France second, Michel Nostradamus son tres humble, tresobeissant seruiteur et subiect, victoire et felicite), which Nostradamus wrote in 1557.
In 1588, Roffe's edition was published, in which six new quatrains of the 8th century, the so-called "double quatrains", were published.
The point was put by Jean Aimé de Chavigny, who in the book “The First Face of the French Janus” (Lyon, 1594), under the title of fragments of the XIth and XIIth centuries, published an additional thirteen quatrains, plus quatrain 6.100 replaced it.
As a result of deciphering quatrains, today it is considered to be:
The first two quatrains (corresponding to 1555).
For the 16th century - from 1557 to 1599 - 86 quatrains were encrypted.
For the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries - 800 quatrains (two hundred per century).
For the XXI century: from 2000 to 2037 - 76 quatrains.
Two quatrains sum up the entire chain of prophecies.
The divine plan indicated by Nostradamus will be fulfilled to the end by 2037, so the years of the quatrains coincide with the "Revelation" of John the Theologian, the "Vision" of the prophet Daniel and the prophecies of other seers].
For 2013, the prophet put quatrain 1 (042):
"The tenth of April kalends, in Gothic reckoning,
Will be resurrected again by intruders.
Fire in the darkness of the devil's gathering,
They are looking for the bones of Damant and Psellos."
["Kalenda" in the Roman calendar meant the first of every month. Damant and Psellos - well-known neoplatonists wrote books about diabolical forces and demons in human form].
"Orange Revolution" - a broad campaign of peaceful protests, rallies, pickets, strikes, which took place in a number of Ukrainian cities from November 22, 2004 to January 2005. It began after the Central Election Commission of Ukraine announced on November 21, 2004 the preliminary results of the presidential elections, according to which Viktor Yanukovych, who was prime minister at the time, won by a 3% margin. Supporters of Yanukovych's main rival in the elections, Viktor Yushchenko, believed that Yanukovych's advantage in the vote was achieved due to election violations. On December 3, 2004, the Supreme Court of Ukraine recognized that it was not possible to determine the winner, and scheduled a re-vote for December 26, 2004. The second vote recorded the victory of Viktor Yushchenko with a margin of 8%.
The center of the "Orange Revolution" was the Maidan - Independence Square in the center of Kyiv, where a continuous rally was held for about two months and people stood camping protesters.
In fact, ten years later, everything repeated itself from the beginning.
"Euromaidan" is a massive, months-long protest in the center of Kikva, which began on November 21, 2013 in response to the suspension by the Azarov government of preparations for signing an association agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, and was supported by public protests in other cities of Ukraine.
On December 1, there was a people's assembly on the Maidan, and the radicals seized the building of the Kyiv City Council and the House of Trade Unions, and also tried to storm the Presidential Administration. Among the protesters, there has been a split into radicals and "moderates".
On January 16, 2014, the protest action took on a sharply anti-presidential and anti-government character and ultimately led to a change in state power in February. The main reasons for the radical development of events are called social injustice, a huge polarization of incomes and living standards of the population of Ukraine and rampant corruption penetrating the executive and judicial authorities, law enforcement agencies.

"Sacrificial bird flying through the window,
The French will prepare for the conflict in advance.
Some will consider it good, others an evil mixture.
For the weak, a good sign will give strength.
"Sacrificial bird" - the emblem of the world.
Restrictive political and economic measures introduced against Russia, which, according to international organizations and individual states, was involved in the destabilization of the situation in Ukraine, as well as Russia's response. The initiator of the imposition of sanctions with the aim of isolating Russia internationally was the leadership of the United States, under strong pressure from which the EU countries joined the sanctions. The sanctions were also supported by the G7 states and some other countries that are partners of the US and the EU.
Since the beginning of the Crimean crisis, the position of the NATO and EU member states has been to condemn Russian interference in the internal affairs of Ukraine (“Russian aggression”) and support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Russia was required to comply with the norms of international law and existing international obligations, stop interfering in the internal affairs of Ukraine and proceed to resolve all disputes with Ukraine through political dialogue- in particular, within the framework of the so-called contact group on Ukraine. The Russian leadership, for its part, refused to recognize the legitimacy of the actual new authorities of Ukraine, which, in its opinion, came to rule the country through an unconstitutional armed coup and do not have a national mandate, and therefore Russia refused to consider them as an equal participant in the foreign policy dialogue. Russia called on Western countries, which acted as guarantors of the agreement on the settlement of the political crisis, signed by President Yanukovych with the opposition on February 21, 2014, to strictly implement the provisions of this agreement. For people with a spiritual outlook, this is already the third mystical warning for the Slavic Orthodox world.
The Russian Empire collapsed first. Behind it is the Soviet Union. Now it's Ukraine's turn. Already half of the former has failed Kievan Rus. Is it half? The Western and Central part of Kievan Rus is already under water, and the survivors, still in the Eastern part, are looking at the agitated Abyss approaching them, ready to lick up the remnants of the Slavic world, in a state of apathy, crushed by inflation and corruption.
Let us not be deceived by the seeming hardness of the surviving soil. We will not refer to accidents that will lead the Slavs to disaster. However, if this movement is directed along a downward or even falling curve, if the road ends in an abyss, then the advanced ones perish first. It is clear.
But will it save the others?

On March 18, 2016, the article “When will the Victorious Pascha be?” appeared, the reflections of Archpriest Georgy Gorodentsev on the prophecy of the elder Jonah of Odessa:
“In our troubled times, many people ask themselves: what will happen next? Politicians and political scientists, scientists and ignoramuses, astrologers and other fortune-tellers are now trying to broadcast about the future, but ... most often, they are mistaken, "getting their finger into the sky."
Meanwhile, in the Church of God, since the Old Testament times, there is a whole host of true prophets who have always accurately predicted the Future. There are such prophets in our time. One of them, oh Jonah, began asceticism in Odessa St. Assumption Monastery at the end of the Soviet era. I remember those times well - the second half of the 70s of the last century. We, young Odessa Orthodox who had just come to the faith, in our attempts, so to speak, to “cling” to the Church were like kittens thrown under the church threshold. Which were originally "picked up" by Fr. Jonah, then still a simple monk.
I remember a small house on the territory of the monastery, which he was in charge of. There was a kind of monastery power plant, consisting of several diesel engines decommissioned from submarines that generate electricity. Last thing Soviet authority sold to the monks at such an unthinkable price that it was more profitable to produce it yourself; especially given the constant power outages in the area.
And so, I remember, we are sitting in this house and, under the even rumble of diesel engines, with our mouths open, we listen to stories from monastic life and the Lives of the Saints, which the future elder told us. And which for us, people who grew up and educated in atheism, were real spiritual manna! Already then about. Jonah was distinguished by the deepest humility and love for God and neighbors. For which, apparently, the Lord gave him His grace-filled gifts of healing and prophecy (cf. James 4:6). I personally had the opportunity to verify the latter much later. When the prophetic words of the elder about one clergyman, due to the latter’s disobedience to his advice, were, unfortunately, fulfilled in the most terrible way.
But I will go directly to the well-known prophecy of Schema-Archimandrite Jonah. The first time I heard it in this form. They say that before his blessed death, which followed in 2012, he predicted the following: “The first Easter after my death will be full; the second is bloody; the third is hungry, and the fourth is victorious (victorious). And indeed, at least until now, the events in our Ukraine, where Fr. Jonah, developed exactly according to this prediction. The first Easter after the death of the elder, Easter of 2013, was indeed relatively well-fed; the second in 2014 was bloody, because a massacre was brewing in Odessa and a war in the Donbass; the third Easter in 2015 was really hungry, because by this time the cost of everything (except salaries and pensions) had tripled. Now it remains to fulfill the end of this prophecy about the victorious (victorious) Easter of 2016, which will soon come.
But here a natural question arises about the reliability of this prophecy. Of course, if the elder, Schema-Archimandrite Jonah really uttered it, then it is quite reliable. But personally, I did not hear this from his lips; and then, perhaps, this is the fruit of someone's fantasies ?!
But even the first glance at this prophecy shows that this is not so. I first heard it in the fall of 2014. And, of course, by this time a number of events predicted by him had already happened. Therefore, it would be possible, under the guise of "prophecy", to speak of the already well-fed Easter on the 13th; about the bloody one in the 14th; even then it was possible to guess by deduction that on the 15th Easter would be hungry. But who in the fall of the 14th, in the midst of the “ATO”, could have guessed that the next Easter would no longer be bloody, but only hungry?! But the Minsk agreements (Minsk-2), which significantly reduced the level of bloodshed in the Donbass, were concluded only in the winter of the 15th!
Should be paid Special attention here's something else. Many reduce this prophecy only to the events in Ukraine and the war in the Donbass. In my opinion, this is incorrect. In fact, the disasters that have befallen the people of Ukraine, and especially the residents of Donbass, are only a part of the disasters that our country and our people have experienced over the past almost 100 years. During this relatively short time in the historical perspective, we had: direct participation in two world wars, and the second was especially bloody for our people; there were three revolutions; there was a long civil war and other wars; there were monstrous repressions of the Bolsheviks; there was the greatest persecution of the Church in the history of Christianity; there were periodic famines and total robberies, accompanied by complete impoverishment of the population, etc. So the current Ukrainian events are not the disease itself, but only one of its symptoms or stages.
A natural question arises, or rather three at once: why did this happen; when will it end; and will it ever end?
Answering the first of these questions, I will say the following. In my opinion, these disasters are a consequence of the betrayal by our people of the Sovereign Emperor Nicholas II, which led to the overthrow of the autocracy and the villainous ritual murder of the Tsar and members of his Family.
Why this seemingly ancient and private crime led to such unprecedented catastrophic consequences, I have repeatedly written. Because, as St. Paul, the Antichrist will not come until “until He who now restrains is taken out of the midst” (2 Thess. 2:7). By “Restraining”, the holy fathers understood the Roman power and the Roman emperor, deriving the word “Restraining” from the word “power” - the Roman Power. But since Russia is the Third Rome, then the holy Tsar Passion-bearer Nicholas II is the last Roman Emperor. The overthrow of which was supposed to lead to the coming of the Antichrist, monstrous disasters and the rapid end of the world, which, according to the prophecies of the Apocalypse, should have come soon (3.5 years later) after the worldwide reign of the Antichrist.
However, in the 17th year of the last century, and throughout that century, by the grace of God and the Mother of God, this did not happen. It did not happen because the Queen of Heaven became the Queen of the Russian Land, which was clearly shown by the appearance of the icon of the Mother of God “Reigning” on March 2 (according to New Style), 1917, on the day of the so-called abdication of Tsar Nicholas II. By this appearance of the icon of the “Reigning” Mother of God, she showed that She became that “Retaining” or “Retaining” (note the same connection of words: Reigning - Restraining), Which does not allow the Antichrist to come. But at the same time, our people, as a repentance, had to suffer a severe punishment for their purely grave sin renunciation of the King of the earth and the King of Heaven. Which was expressed in the disasters listed above, the last of which are precisely the Ukrainian events.
According to the prophecy contained in the verse of the Psalter (Ps. 103:9), there is an end to these disasters, for the Lord "will not be completely angry." He also establishes a time limit for the action of satanic forces hostile to our people and country, for our sin of betraying the King so successfully for almost a hundred years, by the permission of God, acting against us, which is the direct cause of our disasters. This term is in the words: “Below, forever at enmity” (Ps. 102.9). After all, a century is literally a hundred years; one hundred years of punishment of our people, which have almost expired!!! Moreover, God "below in the age (i.e. less than a century, a little less than a hundred years) is at enmity."
And the prophecy of Fr. Jonah about the victorious (victorious) Easter of 2016! And indeed, the most probable moment of the beginning of the countdown of these hundred years is March 2 (N.S.) 1917. For on this day the betrayal of the Tsar-Martyr by our people took place, when the army and the people did not rise up against the insane conspirators who illegally renounce the Tsar from the Kingdom. And it is from this moment that the disasters of our people and country begin: the lost, almost won war with Germany under the Tsar; Bolshevik coup; forcible introduction of communism (war communism); Civil War; famine and pestilence - famines in places, etc.
But, if this is so, then these hundred years should end on March 2, 2017, i.e. somewhat less than a year later. Considering that the Lord "below the age of war" (i.e., a little less than a hundred years), Easter 2016, which will be May 1 (according to New Style), is all the more suitable for this period. Therefore, it is quite possible that it is from her that the Lord will stop the actions of these executions on our people, which are much more serious than those of Egypt! Moreover, this prophecy is not even an old man, all the more transmitted to us through many intermediaries. No, this prophecy is contained in Holy Scripture– Ps. 102:9, and therefore quite reliable! And the words of the elder Jonah about this period, connected with the current Easter, fully correspond to this biblical prophecy!
But I'm only human, so I could be wrong. After all, as you know, man only proposes, but God disposes. Perhaps the Lord considers these hundred years not from the moment of the renunciation of the Tsar of our people (that is, not from March 2, 1917), but from the day of the villainous murder of the Tsar, i.e. from 17 or 18 July 1918? Perhaps, but then all of the above still applies. Only it is necessary to slightly move the time frame of upcoming events relative to the last date.
Perhaps, finally, I'm wrong, ie. Did you understand the words of Holy Scripture too literally: “Below, for ever, he is at enmity” (Ps. 102:9)? Perhaps here a century is understood not as a hundred years, but as another, indefinite period of time? It is possible, but it is easy to check, just wait until mid-July 2018. If a little earlier than this time, the severe disasters over our people and country do not stop, then I was wrong.
What are we to do then?
If we kept Orthodox faith, then we should endure even then (for only “he who endures ... will be saved to the end” (Matt. 24:13) and thank God like this: “Glory to God for everything”!
If, nevertheless, I am right in my expectations, and, so to speak, the age-old turning point will occur, the age-old severe disasters over our people will stop, then we have HOPE!!!” (Archpriest Georgy Gorodentsev, Odessa).

Indeed, due to our remoteness from the spiritual world, we can perceive only those who are devoid of negative qualities: anger, envy, whose heart is filled with selfless kindness and love. One of such messengers of God on this sinful earth was perspicacious old man Iona Odessa.
Biography
The worldly name of the spiritual father is Ignatenko Vladimir Afanasyevich. He was born on October 10, 1925 in the Kirovograd region (Ukraine). Mother Pelagia gave birth to a boy at the age of 45. He was the ninth child in a modest pious family. Father Athanasius named his son in honor of Prince Vladimir. At that time they lived in poverty, but happily. The farm had a horse and two cows, and even those were taken away by the authorities under the slogan of dispossession. But in truth - for the fact that they openly believed in God and attended liturgies in the church. They taught in school that there is no God. But the mother told the children not to believe the atheists, and that in this world everything happens only by the grace of the Almighty. Since childhood, kindness, love, decency and diligence were instilled in children in the family. “Prayer and work will grind everything down and without God it’s not up to the threshold” - these words of Volodya’s mother were always in his heart.
Hard times
In the 1930s, the authorities fought fiercely with those who believed in God. Temples were destroyed and closed, monks were sent to Siberia at best. But in order to understand God and his plan for each person, you need to go through a series of difficult tests. Even in the very ancient Vedic scriptures about the Slavic peoples there is a section where it is written that the age of enlightenment on earth will begin with them, but the path to God will be opened to them through suffering. Because of this grace from above, there is such chaos, godlessness, vanity, deceit and wars in our countries. It is not given to people to understand the plan of God, but we can get on the right path only by listening to his selfless servants. It is important for anyone to understand this, no matter what country he lives in, what body he received or what religion he professes. God is merciful and constantly sends us his faithful helpers to awaken in people their original state of eternal happiness and love. Many people think that they can arrange the kingdom of God here on earth.
Elder's Teachings
But Elder Jonah of Odessa has said more than once that this is a school, not a home, and everything here is perishable. The body and place of residence were given to us here for the duration of the training.
The perspicacious old man also mentioned the fall of Rus'. He said that in those days of the reign of the king, people were proud of their exalted position. The monks forgot about asceticism and the acquisition of the body for pacification, mired in pleasures. And God shed mercy so that people would not wallow further in pride and not perish after death. The power was transferred to other forces, but when they bring people to a certain level of suffering, they have humility and patience. Therefore, from childhood, Elder Jonah of Odessa prayed and worked tirelessly. He was waiting for his time to go out to people with a special mission. One day in his youth, while working in the fields until late at night, he fell asleep at the wheel of a tractor plowed the field. And suddenly, waking up, he saw a woman in the headlights in front of him. Serious illness
Working hard in various fields, not even graduating from high school (only four classes), by the age of 40 Vladimir fell ill with tuberculosis. I realized that the time has come when you need to think about the soul, and not just about the body. And while in the hospital, seeing how many people suffer and die there, he made a vow to the Lord that if he did not let him die, then he would give his life to him and go to the monks.
Took monastic vows
And so it happened. Having learned that hermit monks live in the Caucasus, Ion went on foot straight from the hospital to those parts. He received mercy from communication with exalted personalities and chose a spiritual teacher for himself - the Monk Kuksha. He was ordained and tonsured a monk.
With the blessing and instruction of his teacher, he went to Odessa, to the Holy Dormition monastery. But they didn't let him in right away. Ion's father did not despair and settled nearby in a dugout, which he dug himself. Prayerfully and humbly waited for the opportunity. And so the masculine strength was needed in the monastery, and he was taken to rough work. It was very difficult, it was necessary to pass the test of humility and patience. But Father Jonah went from novice to schiarchimandrite. It was only later that the confessors saw in this the providence of God. In December 1964, the Monk Kuksha left this world, and the Lord sent his disciple to replace him the same year. Amazing are the deeds of the Lord in the name of the salvation of his children.
How the monk received ranks, belts and mantles, we will not describe in the name of the glory of the elder Jonah, who also did not like to focus on this. Even the abbot from above (the late father Sergius) once raised a scandal about the fact that, they say, the monks wear old worn out cassocks. Father Iona, humbly coming to the rector for a blessing, bent down, wiped his hands (after repairing the tractor) on his new silk cassock, took the blessing and left. The abbot, however, understood the lesson from above and accepted it with dignity too. He did not say anything about this to anyone else, but wrote out new cassocks for all the monks, including Jonah, as a gift.
Prophecies of Saint Jonah
The holy father Jonah loved everyone very much. And these are not just flattering words, but heartfelt confirmations of everyone who has ever visited the elder. His ringing divine voice always instilled hope and faith in everyone. Humility and diligence inspired even those spiritual brothers who were higher in rank. He also had the gift of prophecy. It was Elder Jonah of Odessa who predicted the tragic events in Ukraine. He was visited by both high spiritual ranks, ministers, presidents of countries, and ordinary people. Queues lined up from the very morning or even from the evening to receive the mercy of Father Jonah. He did not let anyone go without a gift, blessing and anointing with holy oil, which he replenished by visiting holy places. They invited him to stay in Athos, in the Lavra, in Jerusalem, but everywhere Jonah humbly asked for forgiveness and said that the Mother of God asked to stay in the Dormition Monastery. And how many wonderful stories are told by people who visited the elder! The predictions of the elder Jonah of Odessa have always come true.
Missionary activity
The Holy Father was very kind to all parishioners. Some of the visitors who had been in the monastery for a long time, the priest remembered by name, and even knew relatives, gave instructions and certainly gave gifts. In a small cell, the priest slept on the floor, and books and offerings lay on the bed, which were replenished daily and immediately distributed. Saint Jonah gave everything without a trace - food, knowledge, books, icons, kindness, faith, anointed abundantly with holy oil. And most importantly - wrapped in boundless divine love. In the cold, standing in one cassock, he gave God's blessing to all who came to him, while he himself stood already blue from the cold. He asked God to ease the suffering of people who themselves cannot yet change their lives. Of course, part of the sins falls on the body of the asker. Because of this, such virtuous persons suffer greatly. Father, enduring illnesses, never grumbled at fate, but joyfully met everyone and only gave good. It is impossible to describe all the deeds of Saint Jonah. He gave inspiring prophecies for all of Rus' (that is, for all countries of the post-Soviet space). Something has already happened, something else will happen, and something will change. Everyone was especially shocked by the prophecy of the elder Jonah of Odessa about the war. Everything worked out exactly as he said.
After his death, a great controversy began. In which direction there will be changes - depends on the people themselves, their thoughts, actions. If everyone will pray and try very hard to live by the laws, despite different languages, countries, religions, then on earth, although not completely, the kingdom of God will approach. And all people will live happily even here, but this time will not be long, so it is better to hasten to accept the instructions of saintly persons. After all, this is still not our home, and the Almighty wants us to be cleansed of what we do not need and return to his eternal abode of joy, love, happiness, where there is no suffering, illness and death.
Father Jonah left this mortal world at the age of 88 - December 18, 2012. He left prophecies about a future war and about a new righteous king. But it is important to understand that just sitting and waiting for change is stupid. We need to pray and work - these are the two wings that will lead us to God. This is what Saint Jonah bequeathed to us sinners. The Odessa elder Iona Ignatenko considered everyone to be his brothers and sisters or children. - Jonah tried to enter the service of the Holy Dormition Monastery, but he was not accepted. He did not despair: he built a dugout nearby and settled in it, prayed and waited. As a result, he was taken to a rough job, because there was a shortage of workers in the monastery
- It was a lot of hard work, but Jonah was willing to wait patiently for as long as it took. This bore fruit: from a novice he became a schiarchimandrite, and in 1964, after the death of his spiritual teacher, the Monk Kuksha, Jonah replaced him in his post.
